Hi thanks for the excellent advice and freephone number. Called Barclays Woolwich on the freephone number you supplied, was answered promptly and within less than 3 minutes was advised that I was due some £75 ( plus they added interest to that without prompting ). Well done MSE.

  • Thank you for your advice on reclaiming overcharged MEAF. I applied to Abbey for a refund in respect of my previous mortgage and today received a cheque for £140.
  • Used the example letter, sent to Abbey about 3 weeks ago and got a cheque for £130 yesterday!! Hurrah...........Thanks Martin!!
  • Hi,

My wife watched the GMTV television programme and we followed it up with Lloyds TSB (C & G) Mortgage Office. Suggested letter sent on Saturday, 2nd February 2008 and we have been notified today (8th February) that we will be receiving £225 plus interest back dated 1 year 7 months at Bank of England Base Rate plus 1 % = Total £249.

    Thanks Martin! :T

Hi, i wrote to Birmingham Midshires to enquire if i had paid a MEAF or Early Repayment Charge(ERC) when i paid off my mortgage in 2006 & they have just sent a letter saying i paid a ERC of £150.00 but should have been charged £100.00, so they are willing to refund £50.00 as a goodwill gesture without excepting any liability. Result. Thanks once again Martin & co for alerting me to money i'm owed.
  • Phoned the Woolwich free phone number and got £219.12 credited to my bank account within a matter of hours. Didn't even have to give any of the mortgage details when I called. Smooth and speedy service from them.
  • I phoned the Barclays freephone number and within 5 minutes had a refund of £172.01p credited to my bank account. The number is dedicated to the repayment charge, all I had to do was give my old mortgage account number and name and address details. I can recommend making the call just for your own piece of mind.

Thanks Martin for the free advice.
