having initially been offered only £75 by the halifax and nothing by the bank of scotalnd, I took the more militant route and asked both banks if they could provide me with a breakdown of the amin costs for the MEAF so I could take it as evidence to small claims court. They both coughed up the full amount of the MEAF, which was stated in the original contract. I used the wording and evidence from this website to support my claim, so many thanks, I am now £325 better off!!!

Hi...Halifax gave me £35 straightaway after the first letter (mortgage from 1998-2002) but Kensington Mortgages have sent a Dear John letter WITH their justifications for a measley £45 difference from 2002-2005 after the first letter so don't know what to do now...it IS only £45 though...:o

I moved my mortgage to Halifax two years ago .I was told the exit fee when leaving halifax would be £115 & £50 deed despatch .
Last week I changed mortgage again and I had to pay Halifax £115 but not the deed despatch fee .
    Does this sound right ?

You really need to check this out. Deeds are no longer necessary for completions of new mortgages as lenders can access most property's details electronically via the Land Registry.

Took the template letter and filled out the details and posted to Nationwide last friday. Cheque for £90 in the post today.

Seems to good to be true but it is worth doing. Easy.

Thank you very much. Nice start to a Saturday

can you claim anything if your fees have been what they should have been halifax fee £115
    Woolwich Fee £295
    A&L fee £150

each time I paid the fee I had origionaly been quoted .
