Anyone know how many years back I can dig?
My father went back to 2000 and I have noticed other people quoting this sort of time scale, however why not try further..especially as most people only need to make a 2min phone call..what have you got to lose...go for it!MFW - We've only gone and blooming done it!May 2013:j0 -
Changed from NatWest last Year, 6 minutes on the phone today - £140 refund on the way - can't be bad.
Good tip - only laziness prevented me doing it earlier!0 -
WHAT A RESULT !!
At 5pm today rang Halifax using the telephone number on the info page, at 5:15 i was £50 better off, just for answering a few simple questions.
Give it a go, what you got to lose...........Don't let life get you down, get down on life !!!!0 -
I phoned the Woolwich about this final repayment charge, and with no hassle at all, i got £123.21. They also went right back 10 years,as long as i could provide all my past addresses and postcode, there was no problem. They also gave me intrest on the amount and have paid it straight into my account.0

I used the prepared form on this web site and successfully claimed back £40 it does not sound much but I would not have received it without your advice.

I remortgaged from Lambeth before they merged with Potman. Just rang Potman and they seem have no idea of my history with Lambeth. Did suggested me to write to them at Customer Focus department.
I could write to them but I did not remember if I was charged adminitratin fee or not, not to mention if it was correct. Anybody know how to find out before I write to them.0 -
Thanks to this site once more.
Within 5 minutes on the phone the Yorkshire bs and Abbey have agreed we over paid there admin fees when we settled and switched lenders.
I am now awaiting at least £178 pounds to be returned to ourselves
regards one happy miser :T
its as easy as 1-2-30 -
I feel a tad guilty as my move from halifax to h.s.b.c was paid for by h.s.b.c as they offerd me £500 to cover admin fees .
I phoned Halifax and they were not aware of who paid the admin fees and offered me £150 imediately
Mybe h.s.b.c should offer this service to all people who changed mortgage ...I'm sure it would create some kind of loyalty.

Hi I rang Standard Life to claim back my fees. they took my details over the phone, and the girl was very pleasant. Two days later got a letter giving a refund of whole amount (£185), and a day later in my bank. Good on standard life.
Now Abbey, who we are back with. The bloke i spoke to treated me like he was paying me out of his own pocket. have to write in, no guarantee i can have anything back, and 30 day turnaround.
If I wasnt just about to pay off my mortgage, I woudl move from Abbey.
lets see what I get when my 30 days is up.0 -
