Miggy, I've actually updated my sig to reflect your idea as it's psychologically easier for me to do that. I'm actually quite excited now about the idea of getting the place spruced up after all of my decluttering frenzy recently.
I don't think I could leave here for good! It would be like an alcoholic going it alone!!!! This site gives me 10 times more strength and willpower on here with all the amazing support that comes with writing a diary.0 -
Before I left for work this morning I remembered to take the paperwork I needed for sorting out my credit report and applying for my hefty interest credit improving credit card. So when I checked my credit report I was very pleasantly surprised that nearly every bad thing has fallen off. The default debt has until November next year, which may cause some issues, but I'm not looking to get any big credit so am not worrying about it. There's another default that's due to fall off November this year but I can't remember what that is. As it'll be gone the end of this year I think I'll ignore it for now.
I've signed my credit card agreement and will send that off tomorrow. I forgot to take the freepost envelope, but it's all signed and ready to go tomorrow.
This evening when I got home I needed to get some shopping. I've got enough for lunches and dinners all week now, hopefully. I've also packaged up a rather large item that was won on ebay last night. I struggled to find a box for it, but it's all sealed and ready to send now. It jumped from £10 to £25 in the last 20 seconds. I actually took a large intake of breath!
I've also packaged up a little bear that was won this morning. The thing is, I couldn't bring myself to bubble wrap over it's mouth, so I had to put a little breathing hole in it. It's things like this that make me realise what sort of hoarder I am!!! I really do get an emotional attachment to inane property!
Ebay have automatically opened a non payment case for some stickers that were bid on but haven't been paid for. I don't understand how many people bid and then don't pay, but it happens at nearly every batch of things I put up.
In my box hunting I've actually managed to make even more gaps and I think now that if I had one big push of books and other bits and pieces I don't use I'd be nearly clutter free. I just need a little enthusiasm for that push. I also realised that I have a really nice little tent and sleeping bag outside in my shed that will need to go up for sale at some point soon too. I'm expecting this weekend to be a free listing one but I think I'd prefer to concentrate on indoors stuff still.
So, quite a productive evening. I feel a little more energetic too, which has helped. Tomorrow I can't cycle as the package I'm taking in is too large for the bike. I'll be skidding along the pavement! So Wed, Thurs and Fri have to be proper cycle days!
Well, I think that's it from me today. I'm feeling quite tired now so I think I'll potter off to bed. I hope everyone has had a lovely day. x0 -
Well ebay packages were sent off today. Very happy the larger item has gone now. My paypal balance is looking very healthy again and I need to get a mini statement for my unexpected income account as that's the only one I'm not up to date with. But that's an ingoing only account so I know it's ok.
Main accounts are fully reconciled again and all tallying up nicely. I also created a mortgage spreadsheet to start my obsession off nicely. Which has worked a real treat!!!! But start date for that isn't until January 1st, so I'm just sorting out calculations etc to make sure it's all ready and in place in ..... 6 months timeI think I'm getting a little ahead of myself here!
Tonight I've made my breakfast and lunch for tomorrow, so they're waiting in the fridge to just be thrown in my bag in the morning. Cycling tomorrow so need to make sure all my gear is out and ready too. I've made the smoothies for breakfast and some strange salad smoothie type concoction for my lunch. I'm in such desperate need for a vitamin boost it's all "very healthy" and very needed. I just hope I don't crumble into a quivering pile of detox!
I'm hoping this will kickstart a much healthier plan again! I may have had my lbm on that today though after a really insensitive comment was made this morning. So now my back is completely better after my fall and I'm organised at home with the right foods I'd like to get focussed and trim again. Although I'm still obsessed with the finances, I can temporarily pass some of that obsession on for a short period while the debts are tidier.
So weight loss and muffin top free is the plan now...I'd like my MSE name to be more ironic than accurate!!!!
The rest of my ebay stuff isn't even getting viewers, so they can go into the boot sale box for the next one I do. With the weather being so unpredictable it's hard to tell when that will be. I may actually ebay my tent and sleeping bag this weekend so that I can clear some space in the outside shed. Then I'll use the space that creates to have a boot sale storage area out there, rather than keep stepping around things in the house. It's all very weather proof so will be fine out there.
Right, it's time to get my bag ready for tomorrow's cycling. It'll be the first ride this week too! It's just not good enough! But if I ride the rest of the week it'll be fine. Also, if that vitamin boost gives me the energy I need I'll fly home tomorrow and that will make it so much easier for Thursday and Friday too.
We're nearly half way there!!! I hope everyone is having a great week! x0 -

But... but... I thought they liked to pop the bubble wrap?
I am sooo impressed with all your decluttering and Ebaying. I've Ebayed a few bits but it takes me forever. I have to get the descriptions right, colour coordinated and all! Of course I end up with good feedbackbut I am sure I could do that without all the unnecessary detail. Anyway that's why I don't do much any more, but I'm delighted when I see success like yours.
I like the new sig, by the way. You are going to be so proud of your house when it's all done and dusted!Miggy

Wow you have been so busy! Im so impressed! Well done on the e-baying
I know what you mean about setting up the spreadsheets though in advance! I get so addicted to mine that it spurs me on to do well so that you can update it!

He had lots of bubble wrap to play with Miggy. It just wasn't suffocating him!
With ebaying I find that when I describe my things as though I'm chatting to someone I know then it makes that job really easy. But I do also need the items next to me the first time I list them to make sure I've got the technical stuff correct.
It'll be great having a house that feels completed. It may make it easier to sacrifice things to pay the mortgage off too.0 -

Thanks LG, adn thank you for making me feel more normal regarding the spreadsheet. It's a good motivator seeing things up in actual numbers like that.
Health kick going ok today. But I'm strangely missing that feeling of being stuffed!!!I'll be glad of the lack of stuffing though when riding through London later.

The cycle in was a lot wetter than the radio weather reports had suggested, but it wasn't too bad. I prefer to wear glasses to protect my eyes from debris, but it's not easy to see through rain speckled lenses. I cycle along like a school mam with my glasses down my nose a little as I peer over the top!!!!
My smoothies this morning were lovely, and no worse for sitting in the fridge overnight. I've not had the courage to go for the soup, but I'll take that home and have it this evening I think.
I have spent some money today as I needed lunch so £1.60 went on a jacket potato with tuna and a large side salad. Not bad, but could do better. I think sandwiches may be a good idea as a lunch with the smoothies for breakfast and some fruit to snack on.
I've tried to have a spreadsheet free day, although I do keep popping into it to have a little look at different scenarios so I think I'm asking too much of myself to leave it alone.
I'm meeting A for a quick coffee after work and then off for my cycle home. I'm hoping that it's dry for my ride but I think it will be quite changeable during the journey. But, it's a free journey so I shouldn't ask for too much!I did see an amusing sight this morning though where one guy on a barclays bike overtook another and had a little celebration dance! Then it turned into a really friendly and amusing looking competition between them both. I assume they knew each other but had bumped into each other on their cycle to work. I do love little happy out of the ordinary things happening when I'm on my bike. It makes the ride feel so much nicer.
Tonight I'll prepare more smoothies for the morning and will leave the soups for the evening. I have some bread to make a sandwich but not sure if I have any fillings! So I may need to pop to the local co-op and get a few bits.
Well, we made it to the half way point! Happy Hump Day x0 -
