A nice quiet day today! Bank accounts checked and all doing well. I've been on superpoints, participated in 2 surveys and am about to add a few bits to eBay. The listings I currently have only have a few watchers, no bids yet, although I don't expect any real bids to happen until around Friday at least for a Sunday finish.
I have been paid my last outstanding amount for an ebay item that was won last week, which is a bonus as I didn't think they were going to pay. That can be sent first thing tomorrow.
I did spend almost my whole budget today! I had coffee with A first thing and as I eat him out of house and home when I'm there, plus he buys me my own packs of anything he has that I like, I thought it only fair that I pay for the coffee. Extortionate. I may, in future, get him to find a seat upstairs and sneakily pour coffee from a thermos into a signature cup of whatever shop we're in next time!!!!! Do you think that's allowed?
I also had a panic getting ready this morning because as I was about to leave I found out there were no trains from my mainline station so had to quickly change out of my cycling gear to get the bus to the tube stop instead. I can't take my bike on the tube and it was too late to cycle the whole way. So I completely forgot my lunch and had to buy stuff! The result of 2 coffees and a lunch all bought in London was around £8.00. Scary! Then I also had extra commute fares to pay for too. I should have stayed in bed.
Well, we're at the half way mark again! On the home straight now! Shouldn't really wish my weeks away like this!
I hope everyone has had a great day. x0 -
- 9 things added to eBay tonight.
- 29 items listed altogether.
- 1 item has 1 bid!
Very happy with productive levels again tonight!
Right, I need a drink and then it's bedtime!0 -
I feel your pain Muffy, if I forget my Oyster card its £8 for a return trip. And don't get me started on lunch prices! At least it reminds us how much we save by putting in the effort to be MSE about it!Santander 0% £1,529.94

Thanks LG. A year ago I'd probably be pleased it all "only came to £8"!!!!0

I forgot I'm going out tonight! It is with my frugal male friend though, and we have decided (I think) not to eat. So, I expect my day's budget will go again, but that's not bad when it's also for a few hours with a great friend. I say I think as he asked if I minded not buying food out, I said that was fine and he sent an angry tantrum response. The tantrum was probably a joke as that's his humour (and mine when he does it), but it was a bit out of context to normal.
So more ebay fodder tonight isn't looking likely. 2 things now have bids with a few more watchers so that's a great consolation.
Have done a survey today, but that's it really for MSE'ing. I'm meeting my friend at Holborn and wondering if I can get there from Barbican (walking) in around 20 minutes to save me bus fare!!!! Probably not!0 -

Hi MT
Sounds like you are really cracking on with the e-baying. I have found loads to put on but don't know if I will have time this weekend as I am working. I have a few things to tie up before the move next week. I'm so excited about it though so I don't mind. Although it will be days in lieu and not overtime
Once the weekend is over, I need to really get my money sorted again. I'm only saying after the weekend as I will be having a night out with my friend who has been away to celebrate my birthday. I have just read that again and it sounds like another excuse  but I have been really good and got a good app on my phone with all my accounts listed in it, even down to the cash in my purse and then I am going to see what I have spent my money on at the end of the month. I have a scary idea that I know where most of it goes so this will prove it to me in writing.
So, no excuses after the weekend for me. I will list on e-bay and going to try the payment a day, or I might change it to payment a week for some of them. See how I get on and how much money is made from e-baying.
Catch up again soon.
Take care.
Lil

Hi Lil,
Birthdays are a good reason to hold off starting a big push. No point starting, having a small break, then going again. That initial push can be quite exciting if you relax into it.
I love my iPhone accounts app. It's got all different accounts listed, current balance, reconciled balance and a total of all balances in one! Brilliant.
Good luck with ebaying. I can't say I love it but I am addicted to getting rid of things and getting a little money too.
A payment an anything is a good start. Once you see those small amounts chipping away I think that will be addictive too!

I didn't get to walk last night as he arrived in Holborn before I'd finished work, so felt obliged to get there as fast as possible. We also ended up eating out! It wasn't shocking prices (£14 each), but it did blow the rest of yesterday's budget and lots of todays. So when I got home I made sandwiches for my lunch today and have managed not to spend any money! All fixed now.
I've been dwelling on the fact that my full budget is going most days. I think I've said before that as I have £10 budget I tend to have in my head that I can spend £10. So, as from today it's a £10 daily budget with a £5 allowance for standard days of unnecessaries. That way I'll have a little put by for shopping/petrol/unexpected bits and pieces when needed. I wish I was at a point I didn't need to implement stricter controls! But whatever I need to do to make sure there's always a little left over is a benefit to me.
Ebay is a little slow still. Only one extra bid on a new item. Not even that many watchers. I also have some larger "buyer must collect" items. If they haven't sold this time around I'll put them on Gumtree.
2 books sold on Amazon so I've posted them off today. Another £7 for the unexpected income account!
I hope things are going well for everyone today! x0
