We're staying in the same area as we live now, the tenancy is due to end and we need something bigger really, we love our little flat but a 2nd bedroom has become a necessity!
As a student you get used to moving every year, I've been out of uni for 4 years now and it amazes me how I moved so much carp from once house to another with little thought!
This year I am majorly downsizing the 'stuff', if it hasn't been moved/used/worn in the 18 months I've lived here then it's about time it finds a new home!
I'm actually really enjoying it!FTB:A Saving for my first deposit :A0 -
Wow meow, I've moved once in my life and hated it! Although it was a stressful time without the move, so that's probably the cloud hanging over it.
I'm glad you're enjoying it. Hopefully you've also had a chance to make the most of free listing this weekend?0 -
So far the weekend has been really productive again. Yesterday I was up very early and off to do a boot sale. The poor pitch was totally waterlogged and cars were scattered in an organised fashion to avoid the many puddles. I only took a few large things, although my Mum had a lot of bits and pieces and between us we made around £80. A bit disappointing, but the field was such a mess and there's roadworks in that area so not surprising.
The guy opposite us gave some great advice on a Sunday boot sale he does which is huge and gets really busy so I'll research that one and may go next Sunday as we still have a lot of stuff left over, plus I'm finding more stuff today.
Last night I finally got out the incinerator and got rid of as much paperwork as I could. I didn't realise how much smoke there would be, but fortunately did it around 9pm and made sure no windows were open around me so I don't think anyone was disturbed by it. So later today I need to bin the ashes and get the incinerator cleaned up ready for next time. I think I'll keep on top of burning confidential things now.
Today I decided to have a dig through kitchen cupboards to find what I can but I've magnetised to the clothes, so as that's a job I've been dreading I'll go with the flow and get as much sorted as I can.
I've cleared out the tat cupboard in my little box bedroom which I use more as an office. I've now put my empty suitcase in there to keep it clean, safe and out of the way, so another large space cleared in the spare bedroom. Once the clothes pile is sorted in there it should be close to ready for decorating.
I even sat outside to have my breakfast this morning which was a treat! It also seemed to recharge me enough to be itching to get back in and clearing! Loving this source of energy!
Right, better get on before I get too comfortable. I hope everyone's having a great weekend.

So, yesterday ended up being positive and negative. On the positive side, I did sort out a lot of clothes and as I know I don't have the emotional strength to make decisions on what to keep and what to get rid of just yet, I put them all in a very large vacuum bag, grabbing obvious things out that I know I don't want, ready for selling, and then put the bag under my bed. I know the situation won't get any worse as I'm not buying clothes, but I also definitely know this isn't something I can cross off my to do list!
The incinerator is now emptied, cleaned out a little and put away again ready for next time and I'm pleased to say no grass scorching occurred as I'd put some old large bathroom tiles down first to protect it.
I also have a proper office filing cabinet in the box room which I've emptied out, and that mostly contained items to sell too. But those things are now on the floor beside my computer waiting for photos and ebay descriptions.
The dining room has also been started as I'd love that back so that I have a proper place to sit and eat of an evening. It's not bad in there, but the things I have I just don't know what to do with as they're brand new, large kitchen appliances so I need to make some tough decisions there.
So that's all the good news.
The bad news is that through my clearing I've managed to unearth a lot more stuff that needs selling. Which actually means I've found a lot more things I've wasted money on in the past and never used! Some of it will go easily on eBay, others maybe not so much but I'll give them a try. Based on all these findings I now have organised chaos back in my house, which is going to take some time to clear away. The end result will be clear cupboards and floors again with a healthy paypal account, but the interim is just a little frustrating.
In other news, nothing much to report. Loving this sun! That's a definite!!!!0 -
Hi MT
It sounds like you have been really productive. I haven't been reallyI am getting frustrated with the pile in my living room that needs going on ebay. I do now have my spare room back though so some of it can go up there.
I also watch the hoarders programme. I get attached to things that I don't really need to keep, like christmas and birthday cards and I now have a box full. Why I am keeping them I don't know but I just don't have the heart to throw them away and there is no money value in them
I am on holiday in a couple of weeks so I think I might put a day aside to take the pictures and sort the descriptions out so that I can load a few each evening. I really do need the money now so I need to make a big effort.
Loving the sun here too, it was great down the allotments yesterday. I just wish I had my own.
Take care.

Lovely to hear from you. I'll be looking into your London portfolio of information soon. so may start pm'ing you with specifics.
Could you face one item a day on eBay? Or does that seem pointless to fire it up just for one thing? When I need a break I just pop one thing on while I'm doing other stuff. That's 5-7 items a week gone.
I can completely see the emotional attachment to cards. I doubt I'll get rid of any of mine. I don't keep them all, just certain ones, and since my Dad has passed I'm really glad I have the ones from my parents.
Hopefully you'll have sun for your time off too, and the allotment of your own will happen too. I wish I was even ok at gardening, but I just don't have a clue.

Yesterday was a bit of a write off. I slept so badly on Sunday night and I was just shattered by the time I got home. I did manage to package up some thing won on ebay and they've now been sent off to their new homes. I think I put too much stuff up last week though as I've had two heavy bags of things to carry in this week.
So, other than relisting items that haven't sold I haven't put anything new up this week. I have sold some of the sports study books I had on Amazon though, and there's over £50 waiting to be transferred to my account. I also needed to sort out my home insurance so have sorted that out too with a £70.50 cashback through Quidco. The insurance was a good price and doesn't reflect the high level of cashback. It's a 5 day offer only so anyone needing home insurance should get onto Quidco.
Today a few of the girls wanted to go out to lunch and had decided on quite an expensive noodle bar. I'm being really careful about what I'm eating at the moment, so said I'd go along as long as no one minded me not eating. Oddly enough, it worked. I also saved myself at least £6 in the process. Part of it was to money save but the other part is that their food is difficult for me to digest and just makes me feel bloated and uncomfortable. Who needs that?
I've also cancelled my standing order with the default debt company. I get paid next Tuesday and now have no reason whatsoever to think I won't be able to make the agreed payment when I get paid, so as their standing order goes out on 1st of the month I need to cancel it with enough time that payment isn't still made. I've made a note of account details just in case, but have no intention of letting anything get in the way of scrubbing that debt off my list.
So, this time next week is the cyber party for very many great and wonderful reasons for quite a few of us. A nice little reward to emphasise how well we're doing.
Well my lunch break ended 20 minutes ago so I'd best get working! I hope everyone's having a sun safe Tuesday and a great start to the week. x0 -
What a funny week! Although as the sun is shining I think I'll focus more on that and money saving!
I had an email this morning from Quidco saying my £70 is being tracked. I also had an email from a survey company confirming their incentive £5 has been credited to me to get me doing those surveys again. I had a couple of other surveys from my 2 usual places but there was nothing I was eligible for.
I did go to Tesco yesterday to buy more fruit which I took into work today. I kept a close eye on budget and the till price was exactly as expected. So that's been scanned in and receipt photos taken.
I had 4 items to take into work today from eBay and 2 books from Amazon. I've found the amount of stuff a bit stressful this week and very time consuming so haven't listed anything this week. I'll pick that up again on a smaller but steady scale next week, which also gives me the weekend to organise myself with the new things retrieved last weekend.
Even as I look around my little box room I can see decent books, cd's and DVD's that should really be up for sale soon!
Not an exciting day at all really. But I think that's a good thing today.
Happy Hump Day! x0 -

Hi MT
Can't wait for the info for my London trip. Was talking to my friend the other night and we might go away with the kids next year so I might finally get a decent holiday.
Note to self though - Get debts sorted first
Take care.
