CONGRATULATIONS MISS TOPS that is fab news :beer:. Please can I join the party? - I think I'll have an appletise as I'm still at work and I have just seen a gorgeous chocolate cake in the staff room so I shall have that in your honour too!!!

Well, of all days to be massively busy, today was that day! Although it did stop me staring out of the window trying to work out if I really did phone and pay it off or if it was all a dream - as it does feel! They will be sending me a "you're free" letter after a week apparently and removing their interest from my property too!

I had a look at the finance app on my iPhone and almost everything was in black except for the red of the outstanding mortgage and the small amount of council tax left to pay! So in a fit of stupidity, I paid that council tax amount off too so that's sorted until next March and all of my accounts are in the black!

I feel like I should do something to really celebrate as I don't think I've been debt free since I started earning money all of those long years ago! So I shall work on a plan for that. Although I think I decided on decorating and general sprucing the house up? I did take A to lunch as a mini celebration, but as I don't like to discuss finances I just told him that today was a life rewarding day and he looked at me bemused and amused at my weirdness and that was the end of that conversation.

Based on some things A has been talking about recently, I think it's time to make my own plans again (that don't include him ), and on that thought I've decided to launch my business idea now that my finances are in better shape and, if necessary, I can afford to live on less now. I think this is a good debt free celebration decision too. So tonight I've updated my website, sorted out the advertising details and as that budget is already in the business bank account I'll contact the advertising company next week and get that show ready to roll out. I just need to speak to the bank regarding standing orders into the account so I'll call a business advisor there this week about how to set those up when and if that time comes.

This could potentially affect my MFW diary being started, but I do think it's worth a push and could turn out to be a great long term investment.

Oh no! Now I've paid that debt off, I'm no longer a DFW and so this diary becomes obsolete??? Or can I stay a while longer to make sure I keep on this new track until mortgage free focus is made???

I actually feel quite sad that this part of my journey is over. I know it's a great place to be, but I also know that all my strength has come from this forum and the lovely people who have helped support me through my financial issues, and other ups and downs along the way to keep me focussed and on track.

I do actually wish I could set up a proper party to say thank you! Oh dear, listen to me making a speech!!!!!

Right, let's go see if I can find and raid macpumpkin's staff room for any leftovers!
