In a tizzy. Note home from nursery to say my DD needs a yellow t-shirt and yellow leggings fr a production she's in next week. I don't have either. I can't now get on Adam's to look at the sale tops for the kids because money is needed to buy them. Looking for fabric t see if I can make them cheaper. What is it with schools, do they just think we have a never ending supply of clothes in every possible colour or costumes for every nursery rhyme. I have a yellow t-shirt, I'm tempted to cut it down for size for her and send in black leggings.

Byatt sweetheart, please go and see your MP and ask them to get involved. You have done all you can, it is not your fault those at the decision-making end are either too stressed/lazy/thick to sort out your query.

I will be doing my appeal letters today, to JSA and HB. Sigh.

I have been scouting the websites applying for a couple of jobs in order to maintain my eligibility for a benefit I am not receiving at the moment.

And on a completely different topic .... do I NEED a blob of margarine to disperse the scum when jam-making or would a teaspoon of light olive oil do? I don't have margarine (neither myself nor Lodger Boy eat much bread) and I don't fancy hoiking the canoe out again to go to the shops!

Thanks everyone, sorry to hijack the thread, but writing that is helping me and having it written means I can go back over and reread and remind myself if I start falling back if you know what I mean.....

Anyway back to list - not read the Nella Last in 1950's just the one during the war which I bought earlier in the year, so will keep a look out for it.......

Today its pouring here as well and granddaughter is bouncing off the walls as she wants to go shopping - birthday money to spend, but it is just to wet to go out shopping and after not having had any sleep got to admit cannot even push myself for her so think will see if I can interest her in some baking like she used to do when younger.....hubby did go and pick up pizzas for her so one cooking as we speak.................made meatballs for tonight but she didn't fancy helping me with them, not sure what I am going to serve them with.......

You guys what would I do without you all, from now on will stick every thing on my site in diary, it had been weeks since been there and had totally forgotten about it:doh:

I have something similar - both mine have to go in something orange one day next week and they have no orange clothes at all. Wouldn't have any yellow either! If I were you I'd try to borrow a top and say to them you aren't buying clothes she isn't going to wear again, and send her in black leggings. But if you did want to buy something Asda is also having a sale as i got orange t shirts in there for £2 each. I'm sorry i didn't notice what there was in yellow.

    PAH,
I have just read some of your diary and its so sad, I will read some more of it this afternoon. Just wanted to say I am sorry how you are being treated by the people you are meant to LOVE YOU.
There is no excuse for anyone let alone your family to treat you this way, you seem to all the giving and get nothing back.
So please be gentle with yourself, no wonder you feel so sad and down
    (((hugs )))

I may not have children but I have often thought that about schools. How they decide to do something and they just send a note to a parent not just saying "Can you/have you this? We'd like to do this. They write almost demanding or expecting it of you.

What happens if you can't find what they want or in some households cannot afford to buy what they are asking for especially if used once and never again.

I don't have anything in yellow as far as I know in my selection of clothes and no leggings;)

Not everyone has the skills to make or adapt something.

What is it with schools and the like. They decide to do something and they expect everyone to fall in with them regardless...

Byatt:- It's so frustrating, I'm sure they are so obstructive in order to wear you down so you just give up!

Fuddle:- Supermarkets do coloured school tops, you know, the airtex uniform ones. I'm sure I saw Yellow ones in Tes*o, they were two for £3. You could check on-line.
