Oh I'm so mad! Got a switch for DD so she can start to use the computer. She had a loaner from a charity for a few weeks to see how she did with it and she really enjoyed the cause and effect games and its the first step on the way to her being able to use multiple switches and the a tracker ball, hopefully ending up with being able to use a large key keyboard once at school as her co-ordination issues and hypermobile finger joints are going to make writing very difficult for her. We have a couple of sites that have free games on and cebeebies have some switch enabled games however I have been searching for more games and some stuff particularly focused towards what she needs and tou would not believe the prices!!!!! Simple cause and effect games with graphics from the late 80's early 90's for anything from £25 to £50 .....EACH! I mean I know they don't have the huge market but they are hardly Grand Theft Auto quality - think Pacman's baby brother and you're about there! Grrrrrrrr As soon as you put special needs in the title it triples the price :mad::mad:

Byatt its early days - jeepers its 36 years since I walked out on my first and I could still vent at times, rarely now but on and off over the years as people have confessed about things he did behind my back, especially when I was in hospital after having our daughter and no-one knowing if she would make it. Bruises and breaks heal but the mental scars are always there to some extend ( Mother Teresa I am not).
Jeepers started writing this an hour or so ago as normal and am in shock our area is under an amber flood warning. Here flooding - ok the main road outside my house can and does turn into a raging torrent after very heavy rain but for the area to be under a flood alert is am sure unheard of, well since I came down here so many eons ago.......it won't be the slugs I will have to worry about it will about will the plants float away.
I never as yet have got round to taking down old greenhouse and putting new one up and all my straw that plants came in and am keeping for winter mulching is in old one. Have cover weighed down but just hope no new holes appear or going to have a lot of soggy straw that is no use to anyone...........flooding alert ( amber) here - wanders off shaking her head in disbelief muttering 'someone must be fiddling around with the weather, they pinched the weather machine from that planet SG1 went to, must have.............Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Just opened a tin of ham and water poured out, no jelly, is it ok?
I wouldn't chance it Byatt and I'm not one to be fussy about food. Very frustrating if you need it for your sarnies tomorrow. I would definitely take it back to the shop for a refund though.'Yaze whit yeh hive an ye'll niver wahnt'

Thanks PAH, she is now talking to ex's sister, and honestly if you'd heard the abuse and swear words she used against me when I spoke to her (sister) on the phone trying to find my ex when it all kicked off, as DD was distraught, well...just thinking of her now offering advice to DD just makes me want to rip her head off.
I hope the flooding doesn't happen...it's madness, the whole weather thing. I agree about SG1!!
Stiltwalker, yes, ggggggrrrrrrrrrrr....could you put a shout out on Freegle?
Funny, I don't remember the Blyton stories, and not sure they had any effect on me that was detrimental. I did read other stuff though. And of course, for the time they were written in, they didn't seem out of place. I imagine if I read them now I would be horrified.
What is the oil cleansing method you are all talking about?0 -
Opps got side tracked over the weather forgot to say, Byatt will DD ever consider living with you again or is that to much for either of you to cope with or if not could the SS maybe have a quiet word in the shell like ears of any HA in your area about a place for you near where she will be to give her that extra support?
Right back to wondering should I take apart ( well get hubby to of course) my mobility scooter and bring it upstairs just in case we get flooded - not long after we moved in road outside turned in raging torrent for first time and we got flooded so I had path relaid so it slopes away from house but since then we have had 3 trees go ( two taken down and one fell down as council refused to send an officer out to check it when I said it was getting dangerous, they all have preservation orders on them, one left and every year I call to remind them its to have an annual check and out they trot. Losing them has cause front garden on left side to drop 8 ins so there is a chance now path might not slant towards road - could roll a ball down it but its pouring and don't fancy doing it.............just a shame I have not included sandbags in my preps - so that is my next thing to aim for...............

PAH, no, DD doesn't want to live with me. It would be pretty strained if she did. We went through some very rough times after ex left and she stayed out all hours, disappeared for days and so on, brought men back to the house when I was out...admittedly, she is older now, but if she has a place that's nearer it will be better. The reason she is where she is now, is because of an ex boyfriend...they were going to set up home together so she wanted the flat even though without a car it's difficult to get to. Plus I do have to have alone time as we are very different personality wise, she loves company all the time, and talks non stop!!
:cool: I'm much quieter and happy enough on my own.
Goodness me the flooding sounds scary. Are you near a river? Have you had water in the house before? Take care and hope you are able to sleep. xxx0 -

Byatt no chance of flooding from river its about 6 miles away but some rather big hills between us and it, for us it more the ancient drainage cannot cope as I live in a valley ( not quite the lowest point but nearly) and if the drains cannot cope then we will have wet feet - so far its only my road that has ever turned into a raging torrent but as elsewhere is ok it goes down after an hour or two and only laps at front and back door.......at moment its stopped raining, bet its pouring when I am heading out for drs urg........well sleeping tab is taking its time kicking in, doctor gives me 5 a month incase I get hooked so use them for the night before i have to go anywhere to try and ensure a full nights sleep, took on last night and it took its time working as well.......of course when alarm went off at 8am I just wanted to carry on sleeping, but got to get up around 7am to take my meds then can get out of bed around 8am to have shower and get ready to be at doctors for 9.40am
Its like thinking of someone else when I think back to me getting three children up, washed, fed then dropping off at nursery, schools then heading for work for 9am, I find it some days hard to believe I ever did that..........
Right going to be cruel mum and tell dogs to vacate the bed so I can lie down I am literally sitting with my bottom hanging off edge and they are right up against me and stretched out.............
Nighty night, sweet dreams - going to settle down with kindle and read a bit more of new Terry Pratchett, this is when kindle is great, have the actual book but its a big hardback so not so easy to read lying down where kindle is perfect - just annoying have to pay twice for the book and will pay a third time when I get the audiobook, but like that for the time even a kindle is to much. Will get it via my audible credits but they don't renew till 24th so have to wait till then as am not forking out £18.99 when I get two books for £14.99 a month..........Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch
