GQ you've worked in so many places! DH said from now on to get things delivered to him at work but I'm not allowed to get the AF order sent there - he's too embarrassed. HE has a lot to learn ;)
:D Aw hun, if only you knew. I've done some truly bonkers (not illegal or immoral but bonkers ) things to earn a crust in the past 30 years. I was with RM for 3 months one summer. Did you know how unstable armoured post vans are when they're empty? They handle like wallowing row boats and they're not up to cornering at speed.*:rotfl:It was one of my saner jobs and I quite enjoyed it. I only recently tossed out my RM "driving license" too.

My CV wouldn't be described as impressive but it's certainly unique. I've been tempted to fudge the truth to make me look less like nut-job but you mustn't tell lies and/or have them assume that any unexplained gaps meant that you were a guest of Her Majesty................:p You can see the interviewer's eyebrows climbing in disbelief sometimes. Still, if I was going to fabricate, I'd choose something both more impressive and more believable than the unvarnished truth.

I've been rather amused by the breaking news tonight; we shall have O levels and CSEs again, apparently. Hoop-la. I have a handful of the former and one of the latter and a solitary GCSE which I took in adult ed. Wonder where that fits me on the argument that you were either an elite O leveller or an underclass CSEr? Bah!

OK, time for a little wander and then must head offline to finish reading a book. Several million more are waiting to meet me.

Have a nice Midsummer night. It's so overcast here it's nearly dark. Hope my third-cousin-the-druid didn't get too wet today doing whatever it is they do at solstice. I'm having a small libation myself, hic.

    * I could tell you how I know this but I'd better not.:o:silenced:;)

    Evening Everyone!

(((Smiley))) - do hope you are feeling better today, so sorry you were so upset :(

Thanks for the pitta recipe Lizzy, safely tucked into my Big Oven recipe box along with all the great recipes that get posted here :)

Very very wet here today, but not all day as forecast. The birdies have been feeding like mad, they know the weather is bad! Poor robins seem to have another brood - they were run ragged by their last lot of babies, they must be mad! A robin appears the instant we go anywhere hear the garden and dogs us until we put mealworms out. OH now gets sent up whatever the weather to top them up:rotfl:

We have a regular gig every week at the holiday camp, every Saturday for now but will be three nights once the holidays start. You would think only working one day a week would be easy, but there are lots of things that need doing before we can work and it would possibly be easier if we were out more often! I have to watch the weather forecast for the weekend to plan my specials - I had plans for things like stuffed pittas and wraps, but they are rather more summery than the weather is, so it's a roasted vegetable lasagne this weekend, although I did consider stew and dumplings :rotfl:. OH complaining that it is veggie - he can't eat them apparently :D, so it better sell well!

When I reacquainted myself with Enid Blyton during DD1's phase of reading them all, I was actually a bit shocked at how nasty the children are to each other. They are downright rude and aggressive towards anyone who is not in the same social class, or even part of the favoured clique. I pretty soon noticed that DD1 tended to try and lord it over her younger sister after reading those books because she obviously thought that was how one behaved to younger siblings
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Uh oh. I best steer clear for a while because I'm having difficulty with my eldest asserting her authority over her youngest sister as it is at the moment.

I have scaled my beauty regime right back and use Aldi or supermarket basic, cleanser toner, eye make-up remover, moisturiser. The only thing is I have ran out of pretty much all of them. I tried the oil cleansing method a while ago when we were talking about it here last time and wondered had any body stuck with it. I'm seriously thinking about getting the olive oil and hot flannel out again. I can't be wasting money on loads of products, even at a couple of quid a pop. It soon adds up.

Anyone know how to make corned beef and potato pie? Is it just a case of mixing the two ingredients together and popping it in a pie pastry?

I did finish my washing off in the tumbler but just for 5 minutes. It was enough to take that last bit of dampness away. I'm really pleased though. I have the dark load on the airer now and will do the same tomorrow evening. Using this method I can get 12 loads dried for the price of 1 in the tumbler as I normally have 1 load on for 60 minutes. Rain here at least till Monday so no line. Seriously, I got more washing dried out doors in the winter than in this summer.

I've stuck with the oil cleansing fuddle, as I'm lazy so it suits me :D I'm using up an ancient bottle of flaxseed oil, so according to OH I smell a bit like a cricket bat :o but in a nice way apparently...

Hi everyone from a rather wet place - been threatening all day with odd spits and spots and very brooding looking sky but about half an hour ago the heavens really opened, hubby and I wondering what time it will go dark tonight, not that late we expect........

Well I am now the proud possessor of one of these

    http://www.worldofcamping.co.uk/fiamma-bi-pot-30-toilet-888830-1002

Guy come out of his house with it all still boxed up and threw in a couple of folding camping chairs all bagged up in their own carry bags and a brand new unopened bag with a 5lt water bottle in it ( the ones that are concertinaed so I am feeling very, very happy - now just got to buy the chemicals to use with it, but hopefully will rarely if ever be used but best to get them. I could have hugged him when I saw it not just in its box but box still sealed. £54.99 for one of these jeepers and I got it free, its like winning a prize as wanted one for so long to add to my emergency supplies. although I do hope it never ever has to be used.

Some people would be drooling over jewels me its a portable loo.......

Well had fun this morning, turned up for my ECG and when I go in they ask for my referral so give them the envelope doctor had given me, nurse opens it only to find the forms you need to book your appointment via the NHS appointments line complete with my password but no referral forms. As my GP made the appointment for me I didn't need these so can only presume she has picked them up and put them in the envelope instead of the referral forms which most likely were filed in the bin and she had not filled in anything on-line with them so upshot was no ECG, so to see her tomorrow, she made the appointment so we could discuss the trace and where to go from there but instead I will have to ask her for another referral and appointment and this time make sure she gives me the correct paperwork.......not like her to make mistakes, I hope she is not coming down with anything.

Afternoon good and bad - good in that nothing physically wrong at all wit bladder but bad in zilch can be done, and consultant is another one who joins the ranks of doctors who think I do have MS - its just a shame the neurologist I saw didn't. She said my symptoms fit totally with them being of neurological origin and fit MS pattern - but as she said every patient presents differently but in general if she was just reading about bladder problems without knowing anything else about me she would put me in MS range. So to see her in 6 months and keep a note of days when bladder really plays up and to drink less fluid. I had to keep a fluid chart for 4 days and on average it showed I drank around3 - 4 litres a day and at least half of that plain water, the rest being tea ( odd days I might have a cup of coffee or a soft drink but not a fan of most soft drinks so only have them maybe half a dozen times a year tops and she suggested I maybe cut down a bit on the water, not that there is anything wrong with the amount I drink but of course with an iffy bladder it means more fluid to come out......not sure I can manage it, if I don't get my 2 litres a day min., of water I get head-achy and feel dehydrated and skin starts to go dry.

Right just ordered the chemicals for the loo

    http://www.thecaravanshop.co.uk/toilets-chemicals/elsan-toilet-chemicals/elsan-2l-organic-fluid/prod_81.html

It seems better than the usual chemicals as I so remember from camping days the smell of the portaloos on the sites. Hubby of course asked why bother, but not much point in having an emergency loo if cannot be used........will buy a few more bottles if funds allow and as never bought from this site before hoping all will be well as they were the cheapest by £1 or any other site, not just for this but other things as well........oh well will find out in the next week.......

My garden centre had to tiny 250g bottles of the organic slug pellets - the blue ones which they said they were sent by accident as they are no longer stocking it, I knew that they stopped selling it last year but as I was totally out I popped in, in hope of finding something I could use, but they have kindly said they will order more for me and will call me when they are in. Hope its soon as that 500gs was just enough to do my vegetable beds and the new ( hope to soon) flowering plants I put in yesterday. I also bought some slug traps and have put them in the fruit cage and all filled up with Mr S basics bitter ( 4 for £1) so hoping as its now milder than previously when it rained my plants have some protection as this is the weather they adore here.

Was naughty and picked up more YS in Mr S, not planned but what can you do when they have nice pieces of lamb for roasting down to £2.50 from £6 which will do us two night and there were two of them, plus the beef and cracked pepper sausages which I love ( hubby finds them a bit to peppery) for £1.20 - so picked up two packs and that is 6 mains for meals for me. Other bits and bobs like fish, chicken ( cooked and we had that tonight), so chest freezer is now back to its glorious state of barely being able to close the lid and the freezer part of fridge freezer ( we have one that freezer is half size of fridge so microwave can live on top as no room elsewhere) is also rather full - if you open the door an assortment of meats fall out but I am happy.........they had 24 trays of the only dog food sophie will eat so bought the lot plus some other trays for the other two - they will eat other flavours just not her- so they are well stocked up as well.......so in reality I should not need to buy anything for a month except fresh things like milk, cheese, eggs but we will see. Of course there is plenty of room for more tins.........................................................:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Oh well 9.30pm and still daylight to be seen, although have had wall light above bed on since came up here around 7pm and its actually stopped raining, so as pain meds are still working a bit I might take a wander out and see if any slugs have appeared as still not cold.............

Hugs, Love and Healing to all xxxxxxxxxxx

Oh meant to say thank you for the pitta recipe - I nearly picked up some today that were reduced to throw in freezer but at 54p for 4 I felt that was still to much to pay, so glad I didn't now. On the next day I feel I can do some baking will make some and freeze them - surely I can squeeze a few in somewhere, there must be a gap, there must............

Well done PAH on your "prizes"...it's always thrilling to get something you want after waiting so long. And what a lovely man to add in the chairs and water bottle. Your YS finds were excellent too.

DD has been prescribed a low dose antidepressant. She is determined she wants to move, which if you knew how she was when it's been suggested, you would know what a shock it is for me. I think it will be good for her, but still worried as no matter what it is going to stress her. I am only saying it here, but she's talked to her dad about it, wanting advice and it really upsets me, because if it wasn't for him neither of us would be in the position we now both are. We've gone through major change and many moves since he left. I despise the ba$tard. :(

    Ok, vent over.

I've stuck with it, too. Partly laziness (as I find it really quick and easy) and partly because it's cheap and partly because it works!:p I have maybe had an odd spot more than i would have - though that may be down to my age and the big M word. I have an occasional face pack and occasionally use a facial scrub - if I do that regularly (tho not necessarily frequently) then it stops those tiny breakouts. If it had become a problem I would have gone back to the old regime. My hairdresser remarked on the fantastic condition of my normally coarse hair and couldn't believe it when I said I thought that was down to the EVOO. My complexion is much more even now with the dark shadows under my eyes lessened and the tone is a little darker - olive skinned? WEll, not quite but more than I was - I didn't use my usual tinted moisturiser in the winter.

Re Enid Blyton - this maybe isn't the time to say that I have never really taken to her - I agree some of those St Clares books are dreadful in terms of bullying. DD loved them though. i [STRIKE]am[/STRIKE] was more of a Chalet School girl myself.

We have a dead pigeon on the patio - it flew into the window and killed itself. DD screamed so loud apparently - that someone came to the door and asked if she was alright. THen went off laughing when she said what had happened. :rotfl: We have left it to see if the fox comes tonight - otherwise it will be disposed of in the morning. DS felt it was more respectful to the pigeon to let the fox eat it.

I am here typing at this time because DS has discovered Eric Clapton and is playing it loudly in the next door room - I've already annoyed him once tonight (DS not Eric Clapton :D) so am putting up with it until OH comes up. Teenagers

I'd even have Enid Blyton in preference to EC :p DOn't get me started on Beatrix potter or the original Winnie the Pooh though.....
I wanna be in the room where it happens
