I do know what you mean, but I took her to hospital this morning. I have gone round everyday, cleaned, made beds, cooked tea, so all her OH has to do is help her in the shower and with dressing and serve tea.
Then she had a go at me for not bringing the bins in a soon as the rubbish men came. I told her I was here to help not her servant, her OH could have done that. Then she said a few things then told me to go.But she has texted me about 10mins ago to remind me I said I would take her shopping on Friday lol.

Oh dear :( I don't think that is very fair of her. It sounds like you are doing loads & not being appreciated, which is rubbish. Not that is it any kind of excuse but IIRC your sister & her OH are a fair bit older than me (I'm 42) & maybe he is of the generation that think anything to do with the house is women's work? Can't abide that attitude myself (probably why I'm now a divorced singleton :rotfl:).

I hope she reflects on how much you are doing & expresses her gratitude.
Completely O/T, but please can I have any spare hugs as I am a bit all over the place this week.

Have a few from me :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: & a nice :coffee:with a biccy! Well done on passing your exams especially during such a sad & difficult time.

Absolutely with you on this one

My poor foster-cat spent the night locked in my utility room. He must have sneaked in when I wasn't looking & this morning when I went in he shot out, yowling. Luckily he hasn't left anything behind :D & he has been back in for his breakfast & after much meowing (I feel thoroughly told off) he has crashed out on my bed. He lives a few houses away but spends most of his days here, although he does visit several other neighbours to see what else is on offer. DS calls him "Sid 5 dinners" & one day I expect to see a cat shaped hole in my fence where hes decided to just run through it rather than climbing over it! I'm amazed hes not enormous - hes actually still a normal size, so I do wonder what he gets up to at night to work all the food off ;) (he has been done!)
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...

Oh YUK stoppit lol !! (all talk of olive oil on faces. By the time I reply to a post yuv all moved on 3 pages!)
I explained to the chickens that this is a hurricane, that they must hide in the basement and have sandwiches for lunch. They didnt look all that worried really :D
Removed all bits of wood and stuff from around their pen, put large boulders on top of the tarp on top of the coop, put food outside and inside the coop and it faces east away from the wind. The cat is in his bed, which is a humungous pile of straw inside a wooden box inside a polystyrene box inside a wooden box. :D
I am getting a wee bit worried about the sweeties as somebody seems to be eating them. ;)
7WW you're right in the path of this eh? We always get wind cos we're high up but with you it will belt right across the corridor of the M8. Hope your wee hens are ok.

Mardatha, Hope you and the chickens are ok and you have enough sweeties to last.

Gardenia101 Her OH is usually pretty good, I know hes upset he didnt hear her fall and also she didnt tell him. Maybe because i have been there he just thinks I should do it. She rang this morning to make sure i am taking her. So we will see how tomorrow goes. They are both very stubborn people at the best of times.

Fuddle that was nice of your MIL to take the kids

Prepareathome Hope your feeling better after your 20 hours of sleep and hot bath.

    Kitschy Well done keep going

I am another one who gets the RT at christmas only.

Its cold damp and blowing a gale here.

    Hope everyone else is okay.:)

    Morning All

Hope you lot up in the north are all batten'd down - I must admit my geog of that area is a bit vague, and have a terrible memory. Coupled with peeps often being a bit cagey about their whereabouts, I am unsure of who is in line for doing a Mary Poppins - we need a pin map I think! Anyway good luck everyone, it looks like its going to be a horrid day everywhere.

Kitchy - Well done on kicking the evil weed - I stopped smoking in 1984 (ahem, I was a child smoker :D) as OH did not smoke and thought it unfair to marry him whilst smelling like an ashtray. Best thing I ever did, and if you want to, you will (always say our brain is the greatest gift and we totally under-rate what we are able to put it to).

I am not a sweetie person generally, chocolate and lots of it is my downfall, but thought Jelly Babies give you a good sugar rush if you are needing energy to battle the winds, and Fishermen's friends are so horrible, after one of them anything seems ok!

I can't join the Mad Pie women, I remember a time in the 70's when Mum and Dad took us on holiday to Devon with another couple, they took it in turns to cook. I will never forget the look of horror on Mum's face when on the other woman's night she brought out two of these pies and presented them as dinner!!! The tirade of abuse heaped upon the poor woman (not to her face!) by mother put me off them forever - she was labelled a disgrace to womenkind and I was told in no uncertain terms that pies in tins were the work of th devil. So I have steered clear ever since! i quite like the idea of the tin being used as a cat dish though, I might call down Mum's rath from upon high and get one just for that!

    Stay safe everyone!

As I thought I have got the tail end of your Hurricane Mardatha and if yours is worse than this may the gods help you !
GQ I have been trying to get the mercenary comment in for days since I thought of it :rotfl:

Considering a trip into Stockport for the last few stocking fillers but looking at the weather I may revise my plans and hide under the bed. I have to brave it to see to the guinea pigs and rabbit and that may be my lot for the day.

Police advising to avoid all travel in Central Scotland and Lothian and Borders areas between 14:00 and 21:00 due to winds of 90mph expected.
School bus overturned in Ayrshire, thankfully empty .

I hope everyone in the storm manages to keep safe. It worries me to death knowing my sister is up there.. AND still has to go out in the car and all.. brrrr....

I went to the dentist this morning for that toothache I was complaining about earlier.
I told him I can't afford a big fix up, so he agreed to pull it out.
Hurt like the devil on ice skates!
Tooth was really stuck and quite infected so the aneastetic didn't work too well. brrrrrrrr... horrible.
Dentist was really nice though. he only charged me for the extraction.. and not the consultation or the aneastetic. Nice man. ;-)
(even though he really hurt me!)
    Time to recover now..
Had a little weep earlier but am okay again now... if I could only eat, then I'd have me some chocolate..
