Sorry, being a pest. I've a question.
I'm making leek and bacon quiche for dinner this evening. I am supposed to bake blind with baking beads. I don't have any baking beads so I was wondering could I use dried kidney beans or I have some haricot beans? Would this work on top of greaseproof paper?0 -
Hi fuddle
I have a jar with very old pudding rice that I use for baking blind, and yes, on top of greaseproof on top of the pastry, if that makes sense!
We're all full of cold here, got my gardening class today, then toddler group with DD. Got to get everything ready for starting new job tomorrow - lunches for both children, spare clothes for both as going to my sister's after school and playschool, lunch for me, letters to both places today with my new work 'phone number.....AAARRGH!!
Can you tell I didn't sleep last night?

[Vjsmum:_ Gout! my first laugh out loud of the day! :rotfl:Yes indigestion can be a symptom of 'Gout' See the doctor, in the back of my mind is a combination of antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and a PLAIN diet:eek::rotfl:
Boultdj:_ Thank you, you reminded me that I have to start to sew a Christmas stocking for the new baby. I will get stuff out and leave it lying around...It may make me get a wriggle on and start it.:p
Sunny day here already, I will sit and read awhile in the garden to see if it will lift the 'brain-fog'. DH is on a late tonight so I will have an early night and take a 'cosh' tablet to induce deep long sleep. Hoping it will help joint pains.
Love and hugs to everyone with their struggles today, even your RV Mardy. DH is a Virgo so my blessing are probably as up and down as yours are!:rotfl:
EG:-He works for a Bus company and has to ensure they are all in the right place at the right time. We are having the Olympic Torch this week, and he is hoping for rain and snow!! His exact quote was 'I hope it P**ses down on them'!!!:) Makes you wonder why we love them!!Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -

Got a busy day today, at least it'll go fast! Probably won't get home til after 6PM, and I left the house at 7:15am this morning so it's gonna be a long dayI think much coffee is going to be needed
Fuddle - if you try to make HM yoghurt by HFW, will you let me know how it goes? I've got that book and have been tempted to have a go, but worried I'll make a right mess of it! For the baking, dried beans would be fine, as would rice

Morning all, FUDDLE - you can use any type of beans as baking beans, just remember to keep them in a separate jar afterwards labeled BAKING BEANS DO NOT TRY TO COOK! - I found out the hard(and believe me they were even after 2 hours cooking) way that if you bake them, they are never going to be usable!! Lets raise a cheer for MANIC puppies YAY!!!!!!!!!! long may they be mad! Hope your poorly sorely back feels better soon. Off to Sainsbugs on the free bus this morning so will develope a sore back of my own - told you you were a trend setter Ha ha ha! Cheers Lyn and the loopy hound X.0
