Putting this one out there not so much for the Limoncello recipe but the sorbet - it's to die for!

Fuddle - DD seemed completely fine later on, so I don't think it has upset her too much. She's a strange mix of very sensitive but quite strong, I can never quite predict how she'll react except that if she's at home there will be some drama about it! She had carrot sticks and flapjack too so goodness knows what the little darlings thought about those.ifonlyitwaseasier wrote: »well you can't mention the delghtful yellow stuff and not give us a recipe......0 -
Fuddle, YS is yellow sticker, the items reduced by the SM's. Mr T's it's usually yellow, and coop usually orange.
I agree about little girls being horrible, I often wished my DD could have been a boy for the first part of school. I was very distressed with myself as I often considered taking the offenders down a peg or two. Absolutley and unbelievably cruel and nasty at an early age. I do believe the parents have a lot to answer for, but there were always 2 kinds of girls, the ones who were just bullies and cruel, and the ones who wanted to be in the group that was popular, so went along with the bullies who always seemed to be the leaders.0 -
I'll have to ask Mrs OG for hers - I know there are loads on t'internet though! It is yummy still semi-frozen - like a very alcoholic slush puppy, hic !Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0

Mardatha - I was just thinking of the story of the guy who put a fridge outside his garden with a sign free to a good home, and no one took it, so after a week he changed the sign to FOr Sale £25, next day it was stolen!!
So I was thinking maybe you should put a price on the RVs head!!
Obviously by the time I had caught up with the thread Fuddle had lost all her marbles and offered to take him for you - quick someone send the men in white coats to visit Fuddle:rotfl:
Been a long day today - had a meeting at school and HT brought re-inforcements and asked Ed Psych to come along, together they ganged up on the teacher telling her how wrong she was!! Ed Psych kept pointing out all the issues and where she was going wrong which didnt go well. They were both really supportive of me and it was pointed out that DS intelligence is considered to be genius level and he outthinks the staff.
The HT said that school has to change to accomodate DS rather than expecting DS to change. Ed Psych has said that DS needs to only do a few hours a day of school and that she is happy for him to just to that for rest of year to allow him to recover from the trauma!! So I have agreed to trial half days but have said that I will fully withdraw him the minute he seems stressed.
GQ - fridges, I would recommend Ikea as they currently are well priced and come with a five year guarantee as standard, they are usually very good energy efficiency rated too.
Welcome to our latest recruits and welcome home greent.:D
Byatt- I think your DD is doing the right thing as my understanding is that if the absess is still there, open etc then she still needs antibiotics.
Fuddle Ys = yellow stickered I believe AKA a whoopsie!!:D0 -
He has his Maths GCSE exam tomorrow so I'm wondering which nails to bite. After that he only has his electronics exam left next week.
We also have a GCSE maths tomorrow. DD seems remarkably OK about them all - just Geography left after that - next Monday. I might take her out shopping after to celebrate.
Was going to do stuff tonight, but got involved on a memories group on Facebook to do with my hometown. Once started on the "who remembers.." it is very addictive. Burger all on TV so I ain't that bovvered. Was showing DD an old episode of CHigley as I was talking about it last week (how they all come out of the factory and start dancing) she said it was the most boring children's programme she had ever seen. Wasn't even amused at the prospect of Windy Miller getting sliced in half by his sails. I tell you, 'elf and safety wouldn't allow it these days. :rotfl:
I think my gouty knee is better, but something is afootI will have to get to the bottom of it - or is that in the wrong direction
I have terrible indigestion at the moment so I think something acidy is happening but not sure if the two are related. Not asking for advice BTW as that isn't allowed I know. Might keep a food diary to see if I can trace it that way. Have such a lot to do in the next few weeks but is followed by a week in Montreal courtesy of work (see it ain't all bad ). The weather will pick up here that week - you mark my words. It's always nice in this country when I'm not in it.
Hmm bit peckish - this eating little and often is a bit of a pain but necessary at the mo. Should have granary toast - might have cake!I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Ah thank you for the YS explanation
I do love a good Ed Psych KidcatThat is really good news and testament to your pushing the issue.

Sorry fuddle I thought YS was a common thing on here. Thanks to everyone who explained.
kidcat :T:T:T:T Yeah for the Ed Psych and the HT, although the HT shouldn't have let it get this far. Here's hoping things improve dramatically.
Mrs Chip Another vote here for the Limoncello recipe please. I have a litre of vodka that I won sitting in the cupboard waiting to be turned into something yummy.
VJsmum Good luck to your DD with her exams. DS1's celebration plans are to eat his own body weight in pizza and to watch all the Resident Evil films back to back. I plan on hiding upstairs as I'm a wimp when it comes to horror/gore. I have got used to all films needing to include explosions, guns and car crashes and/or toilet humour and gross stuff.
Byatt I hope your DD feels better very soon. It sounds so nasty, the poor thing.
I ended up going with Honeycomb ice cream with the cake and I'm slightly regretting it now.
DH is on his way to Welwyn Garden City as someone called in sick today so he is covering the on call rota tonight. It will be about 5 hours at time and a half so worth doing.
I'm hoping I get some sleep tonight.
Take care and sweet dreams everyone xxx0 -
Gosh you lot can't half natter! I've been skimming so not really up-to-date but popped in to say hi. Inspired by early posts, I have been trying to sort out my armageddon cupboard and discovered it has woefully low stocks which are completely higgeldy-piggeldy . It was also stuffed with spare bedding (don't ask) which I foolishly removed and put on the shelf above my bed. Was woken at 3am by said bedding falling on my head, a somewhat shocking way to be woken! It is now on top of the wardrobe, having swapped places with the loo roll stores which are much less likely to land on my head as they have been wodged into place.
Must go to bed as I can hardly keep my eyes open. Sweet dreams, and I hope those who have had a rotten day today will have a wonderful one tomorrow to make up for it xxx.Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Thank you for all the concern shown for my pal with the tummy trouble (and for the compliments!).
I should explain that the docs are well aware of this as it's been lifelong on and off, and only emerges every so often. Carb overload seems a very plausible explanation.
I have another friend who also developed similar problems in her early sixties - bowels were fine, nothing wrong, just her tummy putting everything through a bit too efficiently.
I wonder if such things are more common than we realise and it's only reticence in talking about bowel movements that make people think they are alone with problems?
I have a surprise birthday get - together to go to later this week, something to look forward to!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Don't worry SDG everyone else knew what it meant, just me that it escaped - many a thing does
smiley that caused a funny mental image
mcculloch there's nothing like something to look forward tooI could do with an event to look forward to myself.. it might stave off stock cupboard envy or exciting AF deliveries!
As you'll see by the time of the post I awoke early again and could not get back to sleep. I thought with all that walking yesterday my body might be tired but no. Wondering if it's the medication doing it.
One thing is for sure and that is my lower back is sore, particularly my right side where I was carrying my shopping. So pleased trolley is on it's way. Planning on doing it again for fruit and veg tomorrow or Friday.
Shopping arrives today. It is everything I need for the month to make my meals (just fruit and veg to buy) I think I have everything (even bread and milk stocks to freeze in garage) for the month and some extras for the store cupboard. This is the beauty I am finding with having a monthly meal plan.. I know what I need and just have to ensure they are stocked up. I have spent £135 on supplies (meat included) so for a family of four that's £33 per week with only fruit and veg to pay for extra. Now all I need to do is make a note of what I remove from store and replace it as and when. I'm hoping that this is my last monthly delivery and from now on I can buy as and when with only buying the meat in bulk every month from butcher.
I must make sure that cheese and yoghurts are in supply but I am going to try out HM yoghurt again from HFW river cottage.
I have enough nectar points for a slow cooker so I can replace my broken one very soon. I think Amazon do nectar so will work out how to get them transferred and get free delivery via them
Have a good day everyone. Lots of housework to catch up on and my pup gets a nice long walk today as he's back to his normal crackers self0
