Thank you 7 week wonder

I'm sure your Daddy was and is super proud of you, from wherever he is. You deserve a massive hug for getting through exams while sorting everything else out, and I would also recommend cake, chocolate and wine.

7WW, its because this is a door in your life's journey closing and another door opening. Your life has moved on a stage. But your dad will be right beside you, talk to him in a quiet moment and you might feel a big grin break out...:)
Life is a river, it moves on. Sometimes slowly and sometimes in surges. And when it surges we get nervous for a minute. But life is an adventure to be grabbed and enjoyed. - so take a time to think and talk to your dad then face the front and hold your head high. ok pet?
And on a serious note - do youz lot think I should pack my sweetie stash in case we have to evacuate??

Go Kitschy! Good on you - you can do it!

Completely O/T, but please can I have any spare hugs as I am a bit all over the place this week.

On Monday I got confirmation that I had passed my final exam and am now fully qualified! But then today I have received the final letter from our solicitor confirming that my dad's estate is all sorted out. I know it's good that it's sorted, but it seems to underline the finality of things.

The two things are so linked in my mind as whenever I visited dad in hospital in his last week he always worried that my looking after him was stopping me studying. One of the last conversations we had was me reassuring him that I'd be granted an extension to complete my work if need be.

Sorry, for wittering, I'll pull myself together, but OH is out for the evening and I just need a hug.

Oh well: torch batteries replaced, candles found, a loaf of bread in the BM and I'm still planning to give myself that luxury facial later on!

I couldn't say it any better than mardywotsit :) Int she lovely. I think of my dad mostly in times of joy and in times of upset. You'll be reminiscing because you know your dad will be very proud of you plus mixed with the feelings that come with dealing with the final parts that seem so insignificant in comparison, but never the less important. I loved how mardatha said thinking and talking to/about your dad and feel the grin spill out. Those are the best moments, the memories, the daftness of somethings that tickled you both. I like to think of those times as a shared moment.... that I grinned because something/one made me :)

fuddle don't panic about your freezer. If there is any spaces in it put bottles of milk or water in there now and fill small spaces with carrier bags or something. Meat takes a while to thaw and it can be cooked and frozen again if it does thaw. You can cover the freezer with blankets and duvets if it goes off . You must keep checking the electric in case it comes on.

thanks grandma. Why do I have to keep checking if the electric comes on. Is there something I should do? I can, sorry DH can :D, pad out the gap with carrier bags and have some spare bubble wrap. It's all outside in the garage so hopefully be cold enough to stave off. Anyway, were not in the red zone - how scary is that! Hope we have you with us tomorrow mardywotsit, old power lines stay rooted in ye spot!
