PP - try to use you energy on something positive like nailing the !!!!!!, it's hard, but making yourself ill means he has taken even more than your money. Keep your chin up, I'm sure between us all here we can find many ways to make him pay!

Penny, maybe we can all help by looking up contacts such as the HMRC, (I can do that if you like, as it's my territory so to speak, although there may well be more people). I can ask my relative about tax dodgers as she's worked in what was once called black economy.

Had a lovely time in Padstow today, we arrived to a completely packed out town, couldn't work out why at first, then realised it's the 1 May and their particular version of celebrating. The weather has been lovely and we also walked passed Rick Stein's restaurant. He also has a couple of shops, one selling patisseries and we got an amazing meringue, huge and will last 2 days, absolutely gorgeous. Lush. The town is just stunning, lots of little streets, very Cornish. Cornwall is my spiritual home and I would love to retire here. I am just so content. Loads of people with dogs too, most wearing scarfs in the colours of the dancers. We tried to find one for our pooch, but no luck,. Did find a lovely ice-cream though and a traditional pasty. :D

Ginny, so sorry to hear your DH has cancer. Have you been given any support and does your DH have someone he can talk to, a counsellor? Do you know what to expect for the future?

ginnyknit sorry to read about your OH, thinking of you and the family

meme - oh no :( hugs

PP - your situation reminds me of when my exOH and I bought our first car together, we were sold a pup too and it cost us a fortune. Keep fighting as much as you can x

Well.........after being a tad grumpy about life and everything and disappointingish news at hospital yesterday (dodgy leg that's only going to get worse, yawn), I went out for lunch and a natter with a lovely friend and she very kindly treated me, so today was a NSD, woohoo!! :)

Watching the hairies with OH now, shame there's so much meat in most of their stuff, but most look easy vegetarianised!

Byatt - we know Padstow very well, been visiting for years. Sadly Mr Steins's influence is a double-edged sword as manyof the shops we once knew (proper shops) are now just expensive tourist places (same thing has happened to Port Isaac, which was once a lovely unspoilt working village). It is the most wonderful setting though, the Camelestuary is amazing, and Daymer Bay across the river is stunning when the sun is out! (in fact it always seems to be sunny in Padstow!).

I do buy his meringues though, rippled with raspberries, yummy!
We are going to Cornwall on the 10th - I could try to get you a doggiechief - a nice red one?

Just popping in quickly. Very sad to see how many people on here are having horrible things happen - none of you deserve it. Ginnyknit I am so sorry to hear about OH; I hope the news is positive tomorrow. Please do let us know. Is there anything I can do to help? PM if there is.
PP I think you need to get all your guns blazing and go get this horrible man - contact Trading Standards and HMRC at the very least, especially as you have all the evidence. SDG I hope you continue to pick up and feel better. Meme I am sorry to hear about your daughter and her partner's circumstances, it's a good job she's got you to help out.
Shegar well done on the weight loss but really you must try to eat a little, what about some fruit and soup, light but nourishing? ..... I'm glad you're feeling a bit better.

I hope I haven't missed anyone, it's not deliberate if I have. Am sending virtual hugs through the ether to you all. xxx

Mrs Chip mankinis at the ready! :D I keep wanting to call you Mrs Chip Butty :rotfl:.

My Tessy-dog is 13 today. She has had lots of extra cuddles and a few extra treats and I'm now going to put the fire on for her to snooze in front of (I'm cold so I'll appreciate it too!).

Right, off to do some crafting. For my craft 'display' next weekend I have a crocheted mughug, a knitted washcloth with a scottie dog pattern, a couple of handmade brooches, a button and fabric collage thingy, a sock bunny and lots of cards, plus the two cards we will be making. Do you think that will be enough to encourage people to get crafting and making their own Christmas and birthday presents?[STRIKE] I decided not to do the knitted gimp masks :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:[/STRIKE]

Oh smiley - what a disapointment - I still have the cat-sick yellow gimp mask I crocheted for the last party we had :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So sorry to hear of Giinnyknit, meme, and PP's trials and tribulations. I am sending positive thoughts to you all (and, in case that doesn't work, am sharpening my rolling pin in case moral support in the form of violence is called for :D) - I'm all for the flashmob idea with PP's car dealer blokey.

Mrs Chip Butty is fine by me :D. Mankinis stood down, it's likely to be a bit breezy and OH fears for his nethers! I call it wimpish but probably a good thing as it could put a whole new spin on the term 'battered sausage' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

LOL! I am so glad I didn't have a mouthful of tea when I read this or I would now have a tea-stained keyboard and screen!

Right, I really must go and do something useful!
