Are these cuts to welfare benefits going to be on top of the cuts they're already making? I really don't know what else they can cut back on, you only have to look on the Benefits board to see the chaos the latest cuts have caused.
When you ay "benefits board" do you mean benefits and tax thread.? sorry but ive still a lot to learn on MSE , thanks, oh by the way its ."national good manners day today:D.".............I like good manners...:Dcant bear rude/spiteful/selfish/attitude/ people:mad:...on on on and on I could go on and on and on.........0 -
Yum, did someone mention cake?!?
DD changed her mind about the marble cake and decided last night that she loves it, yippee, so the last 4 slices (I forgot to take it to chuch on Sunday, oops) are now tucked away in the freezer for her packed lunches.
Groan, another day another dollar I guess.....woke upits raining and I feel a bit blue. There's so much to do in this house and garden and I feel a wee bit overwhelmed by it all and am doing my level best to ignore everything, I am the world's best procrastinator. Someone give me a kick up the bahookie please!!0 -

It's p-ing down here at the moment and my eyes feel all stingy-tired and I haven't even been to work yet.
Oh, but that sunny day yesterday put a smile on my face; we're an incredibly phototropic species. I love seeing how some hot sunny weather changes people in this country, how we become more relaxed and gregarious.
My allotment is a bit overwhelming at the moment. With the exception of the broad beans, not much is happening in this rainy weather but the weeds are growing like crazy. Tell a lie, my strawbs are looking very lush and flowering profusely. This time last year I was biking leftover household water up to sustain them in the drought.
Here's hoping nobody's home is awash. There's a sunken boat in the river next to me but it was sinking in slo-mo for some weeks. If you didn't know where the mooring rope was, you wouldn't even see it. The ducks are enjoying themselves, tho.
Have a good 'un, peeps, and for goodness sake, don't forget the brollies. Now where did I leave my GoreTex full-body condom............?Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Could be a lot worse from reading some of your posts.
Started work about 5 mins ago so will pop in later.
Have a good day everyone.

Thanks MM, that would be lovely - the sun's always over the yardarm somewhere in the world.....on a day like today!
Well, I'm at the coalface and just about to have a very difficult conversation with a colleague in another country who is doing their best to misunderstand everything I ask her to help with.....joys!
On the bright side, I'm supposed to be going out for lunch with a friend and have brought an apple to the office so I'm not tempted to have a pud, slightly MSE don't ya think?!?0 -
Morning all. Its raining here too. I got a couple of lines of washing dry yesterday though.
Kidcat Dh rang the insurance yesterday and they are sending a claim form in case the MOT tomorrow throws up anything that needs fixing because of the accident. I have also had phone calls from the appointed solicitor and a car hire firm for a courtesy car. I have asked them to hang fire till I know if anything is damaged and how bad. I am letting Dh deal with it all since he had the car when it happened and I feel a bit wobbly about it all because it is not that long since my own accident. I am only just beginning to feel better from that.0 -
Hug and wave to SDG. This miserable weather is enough to scunner anyone.
Sullen looking sky and it is trying to rain which is not making me inclined to get stuff done. Slurping tea and browsing on here is about as active as I can get just now.
Pastry is defrosting for an apple pie tonight and thinking about making lentil soup and maybe frittata . Need to go on student finance site for dd as she hopes to start uni and we need to input financial info.
After years of living just across the road from the library we moved to other end of town eighteen months ago and I have only now worked out how to renew my books online . Wish I had done it in time to avoid a fine but at least I know how to avoid it now without either dh getting the car out or having to pay a bus fare.

Hi Guys.
Have shopping coming later from Mr T and used a £15 off voucher. Managed to get enough fresh meat/poultry/fish etc for a month. Also added some cupboard items, fresh, fridge, lunch box stuff to freeze and cleaning stuff and total was £84.00. Quite pleased with that.
Also managed to make £120 profit after postage taken off selling stuff on Ebay. Mainly clothes and think there were 16 items in total, so was quite surprised by that. Its funny what some people pay for stuff that you'd think is only worth a couple of pound. Im now sending all stuff 2nd class recorded as a few items have gone astray and this way its covered by paypal. The new postage costs are really making a difference, so make sure everyone that you're charging enough! Still have a few more items on with bids on, so hopefully a little bit more profit.
Still checking on RM about the special delivery letter about the car, but so far its out for delivery but not signed for yet. Will check back later.
Hope everyone is well.

Had a very long night, OH didnt go to bed till 6 am, worrying about his appointment at the hospital tomorrow. We found out a few weeks ago he has cancer and now have to go every 6 weeks for blood tests then a few days later he has a consultation. His mind is in overload so I sit and wait for him to ask another question and try and answer it but really won't know whats what till Wednesday. Feel a little wooly headed today.
The whole benefits thing seems to be a minefield now, everyone has enough to cope with without the worry of losing precious pennies- well pounds and pounds. I really cannot pare down outgoings anymore. We felt decidedly decadent yesterday going out for coffee and cake
I have the urge to bake, must be Mardatha's urging for us to Eat cake :rotfl:
GQ I am jealous I have been trying to win over my robin for years but he still teases me then flys off.
I bought watercress seeds as I thought I may be in with a chance of growing them in all this rain. My seedlings are very strong and healthy but stuck in the greenhouse still. Going to plant some seed potatoes I got from MR S yesterday, thought I would plant them in my tyre stack making earthing up easier.
MM welcome, Im guessing you are quite near me, well nearer than most on here! Im over near Belle Vue, well thats the nearest landmark.
