Erm maybe you could all spare a thought for where your rain went??? Hmmm ? I have it here- its right outside !!TY but I dont want it, can I send it back?
Smileyt I have your mealworms, tyty. I am making your soap today.
We ran out of layers mash last week, and just nipped over to the nearest farm supply shop which is a 20 mile round trip. Didn't have the same make but layers mash is layers mash innit?
Bloody chickens are curling their beaks and refusing to touch it...so now we have to go back to the usual farm shop and get their usual mash which is a 40 mile round trip. It's worse than having toddlers :mad:0 -
Mardatha - at least your "toddlers" will provide with lovely fresh eggs - definitely more productive than scrawling on walls or messing up your carpet!
And no we dont want the rain back thank you - can you not send it somewhere foreign??
OH has announced his plans to request sick note off doctor to cover more time off work - I have tried to point out that if he can get shoes on and manage to wander to doctor, he could possibly attend work and request light duties at a desk, which didnt go down very well. Am also rather miffed at idea that I will have to take him to doctor and sit for the usual hour and a half to get a sick note, that I then have to take to work (40 mile round trip) for them not to pay him anyway - what is that all about.
Worse the cat litter needs changing and kitchen bin needs emptying, neither of which I can do so am going to have to ask Dad yet again.
Am incredibly surprised none of the schools have called, when OH is off work usually the boys will try anything to come home - they have this idea that when OH is off work they should be off school!0 -
Morning All (Well it is when I started typing this, just about)
I have to admit that my black dog is sitting on my chest at the moment. The laundry is getting done and everyone is getting fed, but that is all I'm promising to get done. Anything else is being treated as a bonus. I really don't want to leave the house by myself, in fact I stood at the washing line and sobbed earlier while pegging out laundry. That just makes me feel so stupid and silly when I think about all the people on here that have real worries and illnesses. I had to miss DBIL's party yesterday afternoon as I had used up my quota of "faking" ok over lunch.
Oh well, this too shall pass and I'm up and dressed which is a definite improvement on how it has been in the past.
DH is on a speed awareness course this morning as he got caught by a speed camera. So that's a day's holiday and £90 we won't see again  I'm hoping that he will at least mow the lawns this afternoon.
I'd better go and see what the washing machine is up to. I think the poor thing is going to go on strike.
Take care everyone xxxx0 -

You can tell it's spring, the magpies are having fist fights (roll eyes smiley here)
The speed control knob got smashed in transit and it won't switch on, I think the blow must have affected the motor. I hope it's salvageable but I don't know enough about them to open it up myself.
HC: Hope your son's knee feels better soon. I had similar symptoms to his and it was the cartilege in the end, it bunched up to one side and caused some problems. Will he be entitled to statutory sick pay if his employers won't give him anything?
Mar: Absolutely not, my pot plants are swimming! Made me :rotfl:about your chickens though, they definitely know what they want!
SDG: no practical advice, just sending a hug.0 -

I managed to put some washing on the line for a few hours on Saturday and that was the only day in the last fortnight where it hasn't been raining (but it did rain that night). The rivers are so high up here and I'm sick to death of getting wet every time I leave the house. We seem to be living in a permanent sodden state. :mad:Dum Spiro Spero0 -
Foul grey foggy day here. No washing on the line...it's on the radiators!:( Mardy is the word 'Dreecht'?
We have been for a test drive in DH's potentially newer car, it seems very nice but PP's experience is making me very wary. This is not appreciated by the man of the house! It's a bit...:wall::wall:
On the other hand I can certainly recommend Boozy Cherry Trifle. Leftover vodka cherries were very mor'ish. Will do that again!
SDG:- Sorry to hear about the Black Dog! It's hard to gloss over things when you are like this. Hopefully he will bu88er off soon and find a new home elsewhere! Don't feed him any Bonios so he knows he is not welcome! I wonder why Black Dogs seem to be male? One of those 'Freudian' slips I would imagine!:rotfl:
Kitcat:- I am admiring your restraint!Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -
Quite honestly, if I was Kitcat, and her husband needs to be bloody grateful that I'm not, I would not be driving what sounds like a skiver to the doctor's and I wouldn't be schlepping any 40-mile round-trips with sick-notes either.
I'd be threatening to lock him out of the house from 9 to 5 and make him get some well-needed exercise or I'd be exercising my right foot up his bahooky.
What's the point of getting a sick-note when you won't be paid anyway? I just don't get it. And if there's no wage coming in how can that 40-mile round-trip be afforded?
I'm quite cross so it's just as well I'm not married to some unfortunate bloke.0 -

I don't know you health history or if something has happened to bring depression on, sorry memory not working today if you have mentioned it and at moment don't have time to reread thread, but have you had your Vit D levels checked - they now accept low vit D can equal depression ( I educated my doctor on that one by putting myself on what I thought was high dose of Vit D ( 1000iu) and felt better so she then consented to doing a blood test to check my levels and they were rather low so now on 30000ui every month ( after being on it daily for a week) with levels to be checked every 4 months. Also a Biobulb is very good at keeping depression at bay. I use this one but am sure there will be others out there, but don't just go for any daylight bulb they don't all work the same. This gives off a light like harsh sunlight with no shadows. I found this worked just as well as my sad lamp, in fact was better as it lights the whole room not just one area which the lamp does.
Sorry about the £90, my hubby was on one of them a couple of years ago, it was £80.
Sending you lots and lots of hugs and love
Its so annoying we actually are having our second dry day in a month - first one was Saturday but as I have got to go to doctors ( some of my meds can not be on repeat, and although dr will by pretending I am on a higher dose give me enough for 2 months, she cannot give me more so I have to go every 2 months min, or if to bad to get there call and have a phone appointment so I can get the meds) and instead I would rather be in the garden.
I did dope myself up on Saturday and managed to dig another two vegetable beds and also put my 134 vegetable plants into pots where they can live for a week or two until beds are ready for them, then spent yesterday in bed, but need another two beds dug at least then compost and topsoil needs to be added and the surrounds made to make them raised beds. Son managed to get me some old pallets from his work that I intend to make into the surrounds for the raised beds.
If I tried to do anything now I would not get to doctors and don't feel up to a phone chat, easier in person this time as I want to tell her how I was accused in supermarket a few years ago of being drunk - was trying to put everything on conveyor belt and hands kept dropping things and SA said 'wouldn't it be better if I left my drinking till after I have done my shopping' and she was serious, told me she is fed up with drunken woman and instead of drinking I should get out and do something with my life. I was so embarrassed I just finished the shop and went out instead of complaining. not been back to that shop since. So want to see if doctor can suggest anything to improve my grip - I don't feel them opening, usually first I know that I have let go of anything is when they hit the floor, or a few times the hand has jerked at same time and item thrown across room, am petrified that one day hand will jerk when out and I hit someone. So far having crutch in that hand - its always right one has just meant a dropped crutch when out but have thought if I have to go out on a bad hand day that I maybe should tie my hand to crutch in hope weight will keep it down but of course chance I could cause more trouble if jerk bad and whole crutch is jerked up and sideways........oh such fun.
I have been keeping all the bottles from my bottled water, our tap water stinks and tastes of chlorine and makes me sick when I try to drink it - I filter it for use in hot drinks and cooking. So every 500ml bottle I keep and have cut off the bottom and placed over ever little plant as a mini cloche and hopefully a slug deterrant as we have thousands of them every year. I have taken the tops off so hoping the plants will just grow up through the neck.
Right better go and get ready. Sky is darkening here and wind is starting to gust, am so fed up with standing water everywhere. Drains are finding it hard to cope and so we have standing water on road and pavements when it rains and the beds I have dug just become pools. You see we will suddenly get a hot summer and they will tell us were are on drought restrictions as I doubt they will plan ahead.
hugs and love to all who need them and hope you do get some sunshine and dryness.:A:A:A:A:ANeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch
