kitcat - can't you post the sicknote ?

I'd do this too, take a copy first and post the original recorded delivery.

Was just going to say that - post it. And make life difficult for him so he gets cheesed off and goes back :)
Sick fedup of wet here, yes meme its gie dreich indeed. I'm trying my hardest to shut it out though. Making soap in the back room with rose, sweet pea, and freesia fragrances - and when I get tired I'm on the couch composing a guided meditation for my online class inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu. :rotfl::rotfl:
Has anybody at all heard any hint of these new £10 bn worth of cuts to welfare benefits?? They seem to be keeping that one very quiet - which is not good. And Sky said there was a split in the Cabinet over it- so it must be pretty drastic. I hate this lot when they're quiet, you know they up to no good

OH has announced his plans to request sick note off doctor to cover more time off work - I have tried to point out that if he can get shoes on and manage to wander to doctor, he could possibly attend work and request light duties at a desk, which didnt go down very well. Am also rather miffed at idea that I will have to take him to doctor and sit for the usual hour and a half to get a sick note, that I then have to take to work (40 mile round trip) for them not to pay him anyway - what is that all about.

Tell him from someone who has had several recently, they don't give you sick notes, they give you fit notes - they tell your employer what you CAN do, and your employer has to make a reasonable attempt to work round it. The govt/civil service/NHS try to keep people working, not let them stay at home! If he can't work the note may allow him to claim SSP.

I post mine, after I have taken a copy and then check with HR that they have received it.

Away for work again. I swear the room smells of smoke :( so I have the window open and we are clearly above the kitchens. So maybe it just smells of stale cooking. Still, it's only one night  no clue when OH will get here as he is dealing with his parents (his dad may be discharged from hospital today and his mum is suddenly deciding she can't cope having refused to let him arrange any outside help. I'm not sure how she'll feel if he loses his job as she seems to expect him to be able to drop everything on a regular basis whenever she needs something) so am planning on meeting a friend for supper :D

Make mine a double!! Of anything strong, my back is agony - I think walking the dawg has been a step too far!

Cant post sick note, OH work is a strange bermuda triangle type place where post goes missing all the time. Last time he was off he sent the first four sick notes recorded delivery - and still they couldnt trace them, even with an illegible signature from RM weeks later. Our GP charges for replacements so I cant take the chance - apparently the sick note covers him for SSP and prevents them sacking him for simply not turning up! So will just have to suck it up.

DS13 has been shopping with my dad and bought new trainers (thankfully dad has paid as birthday gift) - apparently his old ones no longer fit and he just never said anything. I feel so guilty he was so worried about money he has been wearing trainers that dont fit.
Now need to replace his school shoes tomorrow as they are same.

Are these cuts to welfare benefits going to be on top of the cuts they're already making? I really don't know what else they can cut back on, you only have to look on the Benefits board to see the chaos the latest cuts have caused.

Oh god I can't face reading on there ang, so many decent people being ground down - it just makes me mad. It's scarey why we haven't heard anything at all, they must have a good reason for this secrecy.
