Hear, hear littlecal!
Can't believe it's only Wednesday.....trying to be 'good' and not spend any money today, so brought in a decent sized lunch, have eaten it all and want more, more, more!! Am going to resist the urge to go over the road to the shopping centre and sit here perusing t'internet and making plans for things to do after work that I'll probably be too cream-crackered to do with DD!
Talk at work is of us moving to another building about 10 miles away which will be a disaster for me, as I'll have to get a childminder for both ends of the day and pay for petrol, oh and trying to find a parking space is an expensive nightmare. It'll almost be worth not working if it happensThanks government for taking away my tax credits so I'm completely beggared for any changes that take place!....

B&T, juveniles can be really odd colours, they cause a lot of confusion even among experienced bird watchers. My son has just told me this
And I'm not a dyed-in-the-wool twitcher, although in serious danger of becoming one, so I'm happy to be put out of my misery and accept that it was a juvenile little brambling. If it's not too early in the season to see juveniles.
Mard: Freesias can come in lots of colours, mostly all pastels. And if you're at your soap-making again and concocting up something Freesia-scented please put me on the waiting-list. Ta muchly.
Actually, I have mis-remembered about Freesias: they can come in bright yellow, orange and red but the strongest-scented are alleged to be the white ones. So, choose whatever you like. I reckon some of those goat-milk soaps would be lovely in white and Freesia. There, that's my order put in.0 -
Mar, you can get purple freesias too0
-
Oh phew- yellow was mentioned. Thanku god. Although the batch I've just done look like Birds Custard
- got a wee bit carried away with the yellow I think :rotfl::rotfl:
Can I ask for ideas on low fat meats that you can throw in a casserole with lots of veg please ? I keep trying to eat more veg but I hate the bloody stuff so much - just end up slamming the fridge door on it because I swear its got eyes that follow me around. (turnip does LOOK at you. Fact).vCan you shove turkey mince in a pressure cooker and nuke it with veg? I've got some of that somewhere.
I'm still having niggles of pain and think I need stay on low-fat for a while yet.0 -
Mard: you're a cook so you can do anything you like. A'body kens that fat in meat is where most of the flavour comes frae, so if you want to cook blando, you go right ahead. I'd be cutting down on the fat elsewhere.
You are a strange person: I'd kill myself if I couldn't eat veg. Life just wouldn't be worth living.0 -
Ooh Freesia, another lovely floral scent, another of my favourites. A small bunch of freesias makes a room smell wonderful (but check the bunches, the different colours do have different strengths of scent). The colours range from creamy white through yellow to glorious rich oranges and reds to lavender and dark lilac. I must gro some next year, but they can be a bit tempramental. Freesia scented soap would be lovely Mar
Sunny here up till now so we took advantage to get into the garden for a bit. I have now discovered another bit of the iron bedstead that I have been digging up since we got the garden. I think it's either the bed head or the foot, but it's buried and riddled with roots and in an awkward position. Any sensible person would just cover it up again but I know it would mither at me and I wont be happy until it's up. Does not help that I don't know how big it is or what shape it is, so having to excavate along the rusty ironwork to winkle it out. I sometimes wish I did not have OCD tendendences
We have a juv robin in the garden, so all the mealworms obviously worked. Adult was hopping about our table as we had our tea, looking for the mealworms dropped when the feeder was filled. No fear at all! I read that they evolved to follow wild pigs as they rooted in the earth, which is why they dog us when we are working
in the garden - I thought it was because they loved us! :rotfl:Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Thanks smileyt for your welcome, not worked out the smiley faces etc, give me time!
