I would love some ratty soaps
PM on it's way!
Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
:laugh:Thanks Byatt, we have 3 "Little Nippers", which work well. We tried the humane traps, caught a mouse and then watched another one wedge the flap open with a leaf and let the trapped mouse out.:eek::eek:
If we hadn't seen it with our own eyes, we wouldn't have believed it.
Mar, I bought some nice, fresh ka-e on my travels today. Going to steam it with some butter and garlic.
Sorry!Felines are my favourite

They run around and jump on our patio outside and I can see them whilst I'm sat on our sofa. If one got inside our front room, I would just die.

We'll see if this makes a difference.;);)
MY folks have 2 cats and they regularly bring in mice. But the cats from the previous 30 years of family life at the same address didn't. The only change was that they started having several birdfeeders in constant use; peanuts, fatballs, nyger seed, mixed seed, sunflower seed.
I suppose that there is a certain justice in feeding the birdlife if your pet carnivores are going to dine on some of it.
The classic was a couple of years ago when I was over at the parents' place and Mum called me to the kitchen to look at something cute on the ground near the feeder. Thinking it would be a squirrel, I was horrified to see a juvenile rat sat up on its haunches in broad daylight, with a nut between its wee paws.
Being a bossy mare, I told Mum it wasn't cute and that it'd soon find a friend and raise a family and we got the Council out to deal with it. Apparently rat catchers have never been so busy since more and more of us started feeding birds.
I was in SuperGran's flat this afternoon and she has one of those Perspex bird-feeder boxes which sit on your window glass with suckers. It's sooooo cute when the blue tits come in to grab a peanut and then fly off again.
Well, have now seen how much more of my own money I am allowed to keep under the new income tax regime. Are you ready, ladies?
:j Ta Da!!!!!!!!! £9.20 a month. :j
Or £110.40 a year, or £2.12 a week or 30p a day.
I'm beyond speech. I shall be sure to remember the political party responsible for this incredible largesse when the elections come around...................:rotfl:And not in a good way.:p
Well, since that doesn't come anywhere near to covering the price hike in my rent, let alone all the other price hikes which we're all encountering, I'm stumped for what to spend it all on.
Any ideas, folks (keep it clean and a-political pleeze).;)
ETA Mar, your soaps look good enough to eat. Do you do a version with k*l*?
Oooooh, it's suddenly gone pitch black outside. This is either the Apocalypse or a HUGE thunderstorm incoming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I suspect if I order ANYTHING I will need a SHED myself!!!
But I shall have a peek. We are eating really well off approved foods at the moment.

Smileyt - 90 loo rolls nicely insulated the lower half of my back door this winter, but the box is big.
Must not look, as I'm trying to run down my stocks right now :cool:0 -

When my son had pet rats in London I was in the habit of getting them out when he was at school, and wandering around the house with them on my shoulders. Nothing as cosy as a pair of rats snuggling round the back of your neck, in a house with no heating...
I was expecting my mum, so when the door rang I just trotted off to answer it, Pugwash and Horatio in tow as usual, and when I opened the door it was actually the estate agent who was letting the flat upstairs, and he'd knocked me as I was holding a spare key.
I swear I have NEVER seen the colour ACTUALLY drain from someones face before and he backed off down the path, stuttering, and at top speed. God knows what he said to the girls back at the office, but they thought it was hilarious, and sent me a bottle of wine for the pleasure!!!

I really, really, really am done with Freecy£le/Free$le...I used to offer stuff 18 months or so ago, and had my fair share of rude people. Decided to have nothing to do with it. So, I am decluttering, thought OK, I'll offer a couple of furniture items...one has been asked for and will be collected tomorrow. I put a message on the 3 sites (various areas) saying item gone subject to collection. I get an email saying my message had not been approved as I am not allowed to say STC. I write back and ask which site it is, (I meant area, but...) get a terse email back saying, Freecyc£e, what other site would it be?
Grrrrrrrr.
What is so hard about being nice???? :mad:0 -
Well you could still use Freegle, Byatt, if Freecycle are being unpleasant
Although I have to say I don't use it that much at the moment (I did let my neighbours know about a wanted though, and the eyesore garage next door has been taken away!). Our freecycle has pretty much died as everyone moved over to freegle - I don't think most people wanted to stick with freecycle once it went commercial
