Oh Shegar, I am so sorry, what a complete and utter bloody nightmare.
I was so hoping you would have a wonderful time. How can the hospital say they don't want to deal with a company? That is absolutely terrifying.
And then, Thank Goodness you left the door open for the dr. What an awful, awful time and so worrying for you and so scary.

Shegar, that must have been just the worst nightmare for you. So sorry your holiday was ruined - and all that expense!
Thank God the doctor came on a house visit, sounds like you would have been a gonner.
Doesn't bear thinking about hun, and I wish you all the luck in the world and loads of hugs and stuff.Normal people worry me.0 -
I gave them the ins cert to show I am insured, but the hospital dont want to deal with that company so they made me give them my card details, and they so far have taken £900 just over...........:eek: and emptied my account which is for all the normal household/car bills etc...
Shegar, sorry to pester you while you're recovering.
The hospital don't want to deal with that insurance company? Whyever not? Is that because that company will cover you for anything related to diabetes but no other illnesses/conditions/accidents?? And wouldn't the EHIC card cover you for the rest?‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

:eek::eek: OMG Shegar, it's a nightmare when it should have been your lovely break. Thank gawd for your GP getting to your bedside in time. ((hugs)) and hope you are soon feeling better.
:T Dee2012 welcome to the mad parallel universe which is Its Tough...... I'm prepared to admit to being mad as a box of frogs. Well, I managed to be outside for nearly two whole hours before it rained. With a north wind behind it, it was coming down sideways at one point. I cowered in my shed until the worst had passed then pedalled back home just in time to avoid another shower. No plumbing fixtures were detected but we have had, variously, hail, fog and rain. These weathercasters must be busting their britches with excitement. The sun shone for about 3 minutes whilst I was chowing down on a cheese roll so I just shut my eyes, turned my face heavenwards and enjoyed it.
Have harvested 1 two inch nail, 3 bits of glass, 4 probably Early Neo flint tools and a scrunched up alu drinks can. Also seen off several baby dock plants and some of the devil's own accessory aka couch grass. My front water butt has topped over and the back butt, which got accidentally drained a few days ago, has nearly refilled. Did some baling to equalise the levels. It's soooo chilly that my beetroot seedings seem to have stalled at what can only be called cress-size. I've given them a pep talk.
Well, that's all the news that's [STRIKE]not going to get me sued for libel[/STRIKE] fit to print, so must go and play elsewhere on the site and then check in with the rest of the web.Gosh, but am I loving being on broadband. Oh Shegar, how awful for you. Glad to hear you are safe and on the mend back here. And well done to your doc.
Hope the bank is investigating the hospital and not you. What a way to treat a vulnerable patient! Sounds like they might be trying to get paid by you and your insurers as well."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -

Yea they are investigating the hospital and not me...........The ins co i went with are apparently underwritten by a company called Mapfra, and they do not like paying out at all, so thats why the hospital are trying to get it out of me, also they were not happy that the ambulance took me to the nearest hospital and that is private, instead of travelling 40 miles to a nhs one,.............................I did reveal to the ins co when I took out the ins that I have a pre existing disease, type 1 diabetes for the past 37 yrs, it states that on the paperwork they sent out to me, I thought id done everything properly , I even disclosed one of the grandsons as asthma , I done it all proper.................I really cant beleave whats happened to me and im wore out and so gutted by it all, its a nightmare for me........The total medical bill was £6628.00 :eek:. Whoops I know.........thats anti biotic drips for 5 days, insulin, painkillers, fluids, gastro drugs, ITU bed, and drs and nurses etc I suppose.......When they discharged me I had a £76 meds to pick up from pharmacy which I paid for, plus when I was taken to hospital from the plane it cost 80 euros for a 3 mile journey which again ive already paid..................Plus when I laid poorly the hospital brought in to me a contract that they made themselves saying that id got to foot the bill, yes I signed it but I wasnt in any state to realise what I did sign, an spanish enterpreter was relaying messages to me, what if Id have said to them while laying there " no im not signing anything"...................I dread to think.........id got 2 small grandsons with me and I was very poorly and the translater said to me the drs are very concerned for you right now, whether id pull through or, thats the worst ive ever felt , and ive had some pain in my life, but this was something different ............I dont think I will emotionally ever get over this..................Thanks for your support messages...0 -
Shegar - I have no words (makes a change I hear you cry) except, I hope you get better soon.
I have had a very busy few days with OH's birthday, work, kid ferrying, dad visiting, marking, MIL visiting and still no chuffing boiler. The installer is saying it's the boiler, the boiler people are saying it's the installation and, in truth, neither knows. In the meantime we still have no heating and no hot water and the boiler people are calling on Monday to see when their next visit will be. It is probably a good thing that I wasn't here yesterday as OH is much less fiery than me, and i think the installer would've got both barrels. At what point we start insisting on a new boiler I am not sure yet.
So I am here in the chilly house, OH has taken his mother out (phew - she can be trying at times, I'm sure she has "Old persons truth tourettes" and it is a little frustrating). I have cooked tomorrow's lasagne and, of course, had to put some red wine in which, of course wasn't the whole the bottle and which therefore, of course, needs finishing up
Cheers!!I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Oh Shegar, what a dreadful experience for you and your family  and how awful that the hospital and bank are being so bloody-minded. I hope things resolve themselves soon, (((hugs))) in the meantime.
We have been exceptionally lucky with the weather here - forecast for showers and cold winds all week, but most days it has brightened up, and the sun has come out in the afternoon - and been lovely warm and sunny in the garden. It has rained, but mostly overnight.
I have planted out my runner beans and Cobra climbing beans, and sown carrots, radishes and bunching onions in front of the runners. We had a good picking from the salad leaves (from one of those trays of living salad in the supermarket) I planted out before we went back to London, got 16 lovely robust lettuces to see us through whilst the next lot of seedling mature.
My toms are carp, doing nothing, but that seems to be a general problem here - perhaps we were too keen ! I will plant more seeds, they will probably overtake the others.
Hope everything is quiet on the meeces front - wish I could say the same about their bigger cousins who are still moving furniture in our loft - if the non-fatal tactics don't work soon I am going to have to resort to rattycide.

Shegar, of course you signed it...what else could you do when you are so ill. I would have done the same. I'm truly sorry it was such a disaster. But really glad you are still with us. Of course you are very upset and you are still recovering, but try and take things a day at a time. Have you asked your bank to stop any more payments going out? Your health is more important. They obviously took you to the nearest hospital because you were so ill. Are the insurers being difficult? !!!!!! do they think you could have done??!!
