You're all in my thoughts this morning - woke feeling a little sorry for myself, nothing serious, just aching and sore a little more than usual in the mornings, but you've certainly put it in perspective for me - life is going relatively smoothly for me just now.
It never ends does it????? I guess all most of us can do is be as prepared as we can, and as meme says treat outselves kindly when things don't go to plan. Shegar, it sounds outrageous - hope you manage to make a full recovery in every way.

Woohoo, we have dug up enough first early potatoes to go with lunch today!

Life is a constant fight/struggle and we all get tired at times. Thank god we can all pop in here, drink tea, and laugh0 -
Used free entry to HT properties yesterday. Took children and grandchildren. Had a great day at Nostrell priory.decided to treat our selves to something from the cafe. If you ask they have vouchers for 20% off a spend over £15
Hope this is useful to someone.0 -
Hello everyone, and hugs to those having a tough time (((hugs))),
VJsmum Can you get the installer and the boiler people to turn up at the same time - then you can referee the fight in person and get it resolved? Otherwise just tell the boiler people that as it doesn't work its "not of merchantable quality" and "not fit for purpose" and you want it replaced. Could also threaten them with the costs of alternative heating/ hot water production until the problem is resolved.
ginnyknit - hope your OH is on the mend. Look after yourself ((hugs))
stiltwalker - sorry to hear about your DD, but glad you now have the diagnosis. Not sure you've had time yet but when you google Joubert's Syndrome there is an international support website that looks well established. You did exactly the right thing having a family chillout and fun day.
Mardatha can I start planting yet? I can't believe the price of spring onions and salad leaves in the shops so I want to start growing my own. Please can I start now ... pretty please? :rotfl:
Last year I waited too late for sowing seeds and then got ill so nothing happened on the veg front. My OH thinks I buy seed packets to fill up the cupboard not for planting:o

Oh Lord, I just fell over! Carrying a box in the house, tripped over the hoover, headed for the front door which was open, box of crockery smashed, and I landed on both knees on a stone floor.
Total agony now, and scared I've done some damage. I seem to miss judge distance/height but this was pretty bad. Crockery outside on the road. It was a case of damage limitation, head through glass front door or knees on floor.
The amount of stuff I've broken since living here is unbelievable.0 -
OMG Byatt are you ok? Don't worry about the crockery, its you that's irreplaceable.
Get yourself sat down with a cuppa and feet up, and perhaps an icepack (or frozen peas) on your knees. And plan on a nice luxurious steep in the bath later today to ward off stiffness.
Do you know what caused the misjudging on distance?
Take care of yourself, and post again later to let us all know how you're doing.

Oh Byatt...are you OK? Falling like that really shakes you up! Can you walk alright? I do hope you haven't done any real damage.
Haven't posted for a while as I've not really had anything to contribute to the thread but have continued to follow everyday and been in hysterics at the meeces!
So sorry to hear about all who are suffering illnesses or whose OH's are unwell at the moment. Keep your chins up ladies and look after yourselves.
Right, off back to lurkdom for a while.0 -
Thanks Rosetta, sorry to post my drama, it's such a shock though and I wanted to burst into tears. You know how you fall and know there's nothing to do to stop it, and just hoping it won't be worse than you imagine. Bloody stone floors.
Left knee hurts more than right. Think it's just bruised, but have broken knee before in a fall. I'll put some witch hazel on it. I'm having a cuppa now.
Don't know why I misjudge steps now, but it's been happening a lot lately.
Really does shake you up.
edit, just saw your post Bobby, thank you. And yes, it's shaken me up. I don't think there's any damage although they is a slight clickyness on the right knee. When I broke my knee years ago it was from a simple fall and I stood up and actually walked some way to our caravan where we were staying at the time. I then walked into the casualty department! Knee pain kind of moves up the whole leg.0
