Yes, one step at a time. What a scary experience. Yes, all that matters is you are alive and safely home. But fight for the money back, if they don't pay, which I hope is not the case. Is there any way you could get letters from the travel company/air company explaining what happened on the plane and how ill you were and in no state to make decisions, even with 2 small children. Plus bad publicity for the insuarance company won't go down well. Make sure they know you will go the distance.
How are your grandsons? Bless them, they must have been scared too.
I'm assuming you went to a European country, it's meant to be so much easier now. It may be worth writing to a travel magazine or one like Saga or Which and tell your story as a warning about what can happen.
We all assume that having insurance makes us safe.

Shegar, I hope you make a speedy recovery and the insurance payout (and more importantly the refund due to you) gets sorted without any more hassle.

Oh Shegar, i am so sorry you have had a terrible time, I was hoping you would come back fit and refreshed ready for the fray again. Hope someone see's sense and pays you out every penny. Sending hugs my dear.
We too have been having medical night mares and have spent most of the week rushing around/sitting waiting in hospital while they sorted out OH -suspected heart attack, no, blood clot on lung, yes, which then disappeared - still dont know if it was only a trapped nerve??
Very scary time, just starting to recover from the stress today though I have had a few shaky moments but have pulled myself together with the help of DGS running in and out of the greenhouse swopping all my plant labels.
Luckily everyones advice on here saved my bacon again as I was stocked up with Hm frozen meals and took a picnic to day 2 at the hospital. 'Be prepared whenever possible' is definately the way to go. The one thing that annoyed me was I had to get a cab home the first day with OH as I forgot my dear friend Steve was on call for me anytime I needed him  he told me off today
So tomorrow I am going to get my bigger seedlings sorted and hopefully plant my shallots.Clearing the junk to travel light

Shegar, I'm so sorry. Hope that you get stronger soon and find it easier to deal with everything elseIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Oh ginny, so sorry you have been going through it too. Glad it was not a heart attack although a blood clot is not good either. All very scary.
Hugs all round I think.0 -
Shegar, what an awful experience. Glad you are home and on the mend and hope it all gets sorted out.
Ginny - sounds like you need some hugs too.
We've had a funny old week and I'm still a bit shell shocked really. We finally got a diagnosis for DD and it turns out she has a very rare genetic disorder called Joubert's Syndrome. It's knocked us for 6 as she only has a part of the signifiers and we were fairly sure that it wasn't that as she didn't exhibit the respiratory problems, facial features or some of the other bits. It's a fairly scary looking syndrome in many ways although she is hopefully on the milder side and we're hoping she will cope well. The other problem is that it is so rare (1 in 80-100,000) and there is limited information and support groups out there. We've had a completely non MSE day in an effort to chill and enjoy some family time so we went off to Harrogate and had lunch in pizza hut and then hit Primark for some new clothes or the kids. DD had a massive crawl round, tidied up bits off the floor and back onto the lowest shelves (not the right shelves but there you go. She also beetled behind the counter to be a sales lady when my back was turned for all of 3 seconds! Luckily the staff though it was cute! She picked out a couple of dresses - she has a really defined sense of what she likes and dislikes and she's so funny about it. DS got a couple of t-shirts and trousers, I got a shirt and poor old daddy just got a load of pants!
Hugs to all in need of one.0 -
Stiltwalker, I am so sorry to hear about your little one. I hope you find some specialist support out there - maybe the USA has more due to having a larger population. If you need any help, if I can make any special toys to stimulate her just send me a photo and I will replicate them for you. Other than that we are all here for you xxx
Tough times for many but I never under estimate the power of support from friends who will listen on here :TClearing the junk to travel light

Shegar, I am so sorry your holiday was so terribly awful. Like Ginny and others on here I had hoped it would be a dream holiday for you to relax. I hope you get all your money back, I really do. If I was closer I would call round and help you write any letters etc and well, just help you out whilst you are feeling so poorly. But I'm hundreds of miles away up here in Manchester.
Ginny, I'm sorry to hear about your OH. I hope he's feeling better now and you manage to get a bit of rest. If you need any help identifying your plants give me a shout - between us we might be able to sort them out! Otherwise, you will just have surprise veg in the summer :rotfl:(Actually if it's anything like last summer the surprise will be if you get any veg at all!).
Stiltwalker, sorry to hear about your dd's diagnosis. Will you be able to get help from social services and the LEA?
Hugs to everyone else who needs one tonight. When I'm a bit less sleepy I might post photos of Bruno's latest handiwork (paw work? ) - he has totally shredded the seat cushion of my chair. And I mean totally shredded - it is beyond repair. If he was a kid I would stop his pocket money and ground him. Hey ho.....Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Stiltwalker:- That sounds like a good day out. Sometimes relaxing is more important than OS! Getting a diagnosis will be a new beginning, new things to explore and then endlessly explain to whomever gets involved in your DD's life. She sounds like a very happy child, despite her difficulties, which is all down to you.
Ginny:- What an awful time for you! Pleased OH is ok and everything is being looked at. Sounds like it was a scary time for you all. :grouphug:
Smiley:- You sound so sanguine about your car seat cushion, it made me laugh! I can imagine the mess was awful though.Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0
