Docky, well, it goes to prove what I always suspected, dogs are cleverer than people. Most people don't know there are girl boxers.
Bess loves mud, she is white so has lots of fun covering her white coat!

Morning everyone. How are you all? I have been missing in action because I have been involved in the equal marriage campaign. I wrote a response to the Archbishop's letter and handed it out after Mass outside my church on Sunday. If anyone wants to read it, pm me and I'll send you a link as someone has put it on google docs (not me, I wouldn't have a clue how to do that!).
Anyway, I don't want to start a fight over the pros and cons as I'm aware that people have different opinions.
Doc, Bruno was a naughty boy on Tuesday. He found a lovely patch of daffodils and, before I could stop him, he rolled on them and flattened them all. I was so embarrassed and cross with him. I suppose you dogs don't really appreciate flowers much .....
Approved Foods have tilda long grain rice, 7.5kg, for £2.99. You would only need to buy two bags and you would more than have covered the national rate of postage that they charge. I'm off to put an order in now before I go to work.
Take care everyone xx Only 10 more days before the clocks go forward
My opinions on marriage is everyone should be able to get married then they can be as happy or as miserable as the rest of us :rotfl::rotfl:
Can't wait for the clocks
And only ONE MORE SLEEP TIL I FETCH THE POOCH:j:j
DH is blaming me and telling everyone "oh she made me have a dog" but he stuck dog treats in the shopping last night so I know he is looking forward to it really :rotfl:
Been quite busy today, cleaned all the cat pen out and disinfected. Let the chooks out for a roam around the garden while pottering around for a few hours, cats are not as interested todaythen I went to do some baking.
I have just made some gingerbread men from the be-ro book and they taste a little cakey IYKWIM what have I done wrong??

We don't know yet, I want to get him home before we make any rash decisions. The three possibilities so far are
Stig /Stiggy as he is white
Yoshi as the kids love Mario
Hamish as I have Hamish Steiff bear who is white and they look similar.
I just don't know
Hubby is definitely keen as he is saying the good thing about little dogs is you can take them everywhere with you. I have yet to remind him the doggie is mine all mine and he will go everywhere with me:rotfl:

Evening All
Just popped in to say hello while I'm waiting for DH to get changed. He owes me a date so we are going out to dinner to a new local Italian restaurant. DH was practically drooling over the keyboard when I showed him the menu online earlier, so that decided it for him. I get the feeling it is going to be one of those nights where we order a starter for two and I get two mouthfuls of it.
Best of luck and congratulations with the new member of the family PIC. I can't wait to see pictures
smileyt I would like the link too if you don't mind. I'm all for equal rights for same sex couples. The gay couples I know have been together for longer than most of the hetrosexual ones.
DH is ready, so I'll say goodbye and catch up more later0 -
Well the men in white coats did not turn up so DH and I stained the chairs ourselves!
I had a stand up fight with a four year old this morning about which pair of shoes he could wear for school! Notice it was not his sister, who is equally shoe obsessed. I can remember their Mam got assertive about shoes and clothes when she was about 7, but they are only FOUR years old!
Almost did my 'when I was young' speech but really it's not relevant. Yes, when I was young I only had my school shoes and my school sandshoes. In the summer I had sandels with crepe soles. Then shoes were very expensive, they took a big percentage of a weeks wage. These days cheap shoes are everywhere. It is common for children to have lots of shoes. Grandma resorted to..'you will have to ask your Mam'
Still, it would be a lot easier if they only had one pair! "Grandma you will have to wear shoes with laces when you come tomorrow so I can copy how you fasten them." He is desperate to wear shoes with laces for school! Four year olds have such certainty in the world and their lives. Their confidence is so amazing.
We are off to sit in a field for the weekend. watch a few cows and sheep and generally do nowt. It's been a busy week and we deserve it. :j
I am taking some of my HM meals so am not even going to cook! Am planning a Scandinavian lunch on Saturday, lots of herring in different pickles, beetroot and rye breads. Might even buy a bottle of red and have the indoor picnic PIC did not have! :rotfl:Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -
Have a good time :beer:0

Meme - I did laugh, I have a very fashion obsessed six year old who would have more shoes than Imelda Marcos if I let her, you cant take her past a shoes shop without her drooling and pulling inside. She got a new dress for her party and simply "had" to have new shoes to go with it!!
DS8 is equally obsessed with his clothes but in the opposite way, hates anything new and wants exactly the same again. He has six pairs of identical jeans, his last three sets of trainers have been the same and school socks are the bain of my life.
Its been a long day, I had my support group this morning which was good, kept me busy waiting to take DS13 to his assessment. I am finding that whilst I consider myself to be completely unknowledgeable about special needs provision and education and in the dark as it were, in group I realise I actually know so much in comparison with most parents. I have so many ideas for improving information that I am going to work with the group to put together a directory of information.
Took DS13 for his assessment, which was hard to watch, I saw them make him do things he clearly struggled with and upset him, and I understand that what they were asking was nothing special and to any other kid would not have been an issue but to him was excruciating. Ironically DS8 would have managed the stuff that DS13 struggled with. Which does highlight the argument - that if you have seen one autistic kid, you have seen one autistic kid.
They seemed to indicate they feel the diagnosis will be definite, although they cannot say without all the reports in, she made comments that did point in that direction. At one point I was ready to call the whole thing off when DS got upset but OH stopped me and held me back whilst they calmed DS then carried on. Its hard watching your child from behind a glass screen when he is not coping. We didnt have this issue with DS8 as he didnt get upset by it at all, but then he is much more comfortable with adults than his brother.
We then took DS to a new restaurant place for lunch before returning him to school - it was an all you can eat type place, OH and DS were in their element eating allsorts. BIt wasted on me, I had a small carvery type thing and a bowl of salad. It was ok, bit I would rather have a single portion of really good food than have heaps of just ok food. BUt it was a hit with DS.
DS8 presented his leg for inspection today for me to see how he has pulled all the silly butterflies off again. Had to pack him off to walk in centre as it was clearly infected and needs putting together professionally. OH arrived back very pale having spent an hour with DS having his wound opened again, cleaned and then glued back together.
He has just showed it again and I swear he has started picking the glue off!! Beginning to feel tomorrow could be a long day.
Have a surprise birthday party to go to tomorrow, but I have a feeling the intended victim will not be overly pleased, was supposed to take everyone but as OH working next day he is not that keen on going so am thinking of leaving littlies here and just taking the eldest two.
I still have no voice so wont be staying long and realistically I find trying to communicate in a normal environment a strain never mind with a DJ at full pelt.0
