...and very often I get fibro fog which means I can not remember or concentrate on anything and I have holes in my mind where words should be - hubby and I have fun with me describing some thing and him working out what the word is I cannot remember. Getting very good at discriptions:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: ( that stuff growing out my head that is getting very long: the thing that shines brightly so I can see in the dark: my portable pc etc etc) Hubby is getting very good at working out exactly what I mean. If he is not here google is a great help at helping me find out what the word is.

Get out of Jury Service if you possibly can - I've done it twice - in the two weeks leading up to Xmas both times - deep joy - and I hope and pray I'll never get called again - I HATED it. I did it years ago mind you, there was a ridiculous amount of hanging about, and half the time they just sent you home two hours after you arrived. First time too one of the cases was a travesty, I thought so at the time, and later it all came out in the news. Most disturbing. Get the GP to write that you find it hard to concentrate and can't sit in one position for long.

That word blank happens to me all the time :o my current recent favorite is saying to OH "Do you want erm....those small things that are round and green?" blank look from him, so I carried on "We keep them in the freezer...." "Peas?" he said hopefully...."yes, yes that's it - Peas!":rotfl: How can you forget the word for peas!

Congrats Byatt - the fact that you are being so generous as to offer the tickets you cannot use to others is why the lovely flowers are so nice. Definately believe what goes around comes around well done you for being so nice Lyn.

Thank you and PAH for your lovely comments. :) :A
I totally believe in the the system of trial by Jury but I know there is no way I could get there every day, or be able to sit more than about 15 mins without moving or having to go to loo and very often I get fibro fog which means I can not remember or concentrate on anything and I have holes in my mind where words should be - hubby and I have fun with me describing some thing and him working out what the word is I cannot remember. Not such fun in public though can see me sitting in a Jury trying to talk about the defendant without me remembering the word defendant or something like that, to embarrassing for words.

PAH, I love your description; I get the exact same thing and the image of holes in my mind is very apt. People often look at me as if I am totally stupid as I can't find even the most basic words at times. It's got worse over the last 2 years and means I cannot learn new things easily any more or study. I read a book now and cannot remember what it was about or who wrote it. I had to repeat the PM's name over and over in my head before it sunk in. (Just in case I got tested at the Dr's! :rotfl:).

I'd hate to be on a jury. My mother had a couple of stints and my father who would love to have done it, never got called. I think some of the cases you can get to hear must be so traumatic. On that subject did anyone watch Garrow's Law?

Wonder if this is winter at last? Been very cold here all day, not thawed at all out the back the grass stayed white all day and the hens water froze. Gone colder now since sun went down. Loads and loads of geese flew over us all day - must've been hundreds of them.

    Afternoon Toughies!

Hugs for those who need them. Mard, hope you have got a bit more energy back today.

Well - the beast is back - finally, after 2 months () the van is returned after its gas refit. And there is a very big hole in my pocket :(, but hope to get some of that back. The new additions look good, cant wait to play with it, but it needs a total scrub out again :eek::eek:.

Had a lovely surprise this morning (Byatt, how nice yours was!)
Before she died in 2008 MIL bought me a summerhouse to go up the hill in the garden. It is a lovely corner one, with views over the harbour. I have got all my retro kitchen stuff up there and it's like a big girls play house :rotfl:!. On Monday this week OH snapped the outside door handle off, so I emailed the makers (Rowlinsons) and asked what part I need to buy to replace it. They emailed yesterday asking for my name and address and today a new set of handles turned up in the post! How good is that, I would have had no problem paying for it, I know it had corroded because of the sea air.
It makes a nice change to get such good service.

Welsh names - there is a place near us (Kate, you will know it) called Eglwyswrw - it ended up being called Eggles-weggles in the Chip house! I am absorbing welsh by osmosis, I can understand some, but not really got into actually speaking any. I must join some of the welsh classes that are run by the council.

Kate - the drive up today was beautiful, especially looking down on the misty fields above Cardigan - it made me think how different it was to the grey streets of SE London!

I get Swiss Cheese head too - and I have no excuse except advancing years. I do worry sometimes that this is not normal - please tell me it just part of getting older? :D

I've been taking Ginkgo Biloba for my glaucoma and I do think it has helped with the memory as well - I haven't been getting that totally blank locked door feeling when I go searching in the recesses of my mind
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

All age related again, I feel :rotfl:. I keep getting words muddled rather than forgetting words - asked DS if he'd brushed his sausages this moning, rather than teeth (can anyone explain that one?).

Well done on the flowers - what a lovely suprise. I love fresh flowers but cant justify the expense at the moment. I won a Kenwood years ago which is a fab prize although back then I wasn't OS & it sat in a box for a few years while I wondered what to do with it :D. Gets a good workout now, but still cant find any whoopsied cream for my butter...

Katieowl - hope PALS are useful - what a PITA!

So glad its the weekend - no getting up so early for the school shenanigans :T

Love & dodgy :grouphug: to all.
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...

    Glad to hear van sorted.

I'm so jealous when I hear of all these lovely Welsh things - count myself as a Swansea girl even though I haven't lived there for years unfortunately. Not Welsh speaking sadly, but can follow bits if people speak s l o w l y. I also love Tonypandy & surrounding towns as I have such happy childhood memories. Now Cardiff, where I lived for a long time - wouldn't move back if you held a gun to my head :rotfl: (hope I'm not upsetting too many people here).

My favourite Welsh thing - Mumbles pier on a sunny day with a Joe's Welshcake flavour ice cream (or any flavour really :D). Yum.
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...
