Not caught up with all the posts but just wanted to pop in and say my love and hugs with those struggling with children who are ill or have lost one. I know what its like to both have a child ill for years and to lose one ( well actually lost 4 but three were twins of the children who lived that didn't make it through birth so I never met them,, but see them daily in the ones who survived of course as all identical, some genetic things that runs in our family you can have twins but only one makes it to birth). but her I did and its weird but she was my healthiest baby born, all my others needed help after birth and now all grown up, but she passed on young. It wasn't cancer with my youngest son, but lung problems and asthma that had him more in hospital from 5 weeks old till around 6 and 11 before he really became fully well, so although a different type of condition, I understand the fear of wondering will it come back, oh gosh one of the family have a cold will he end up in hospital on oxygen again fighting for his life. Although he is clear now and 28 I do still worry as his condition can return at any time and he knows it so every time he mentions he has a cold or chest infection I am on at him to get to doctors just in case. The fear never leaves you but you learn to live with it, and enjoy the happy times even more.

Life can feel as if its really bad when these things hit but please take pleasure in the small things, they are the diamonds among the dross. Remember them when things seem so black. You will smile again, you will even laugh again, hard as it is to believe.

Hugs and love to you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thank you all for your kind words.

We have just taken some large boxes of "stuff" to the charity shop, and hubby had to "pop" in to Sainsburys as we needed Ribena. I did manage to keep him from the dvd and cd section along with the crisp and biscuit aisle! We're getting there!

Mum2twomonkeys - hugs, have done the in and out of hospital thing and its draining. I would say that if at all possible you need to forget about working at the moment, as long as you can manage it would just be another pressure that you dont need. You need to think of your health too. :)

Fellpony - words seem so inadequate, the loss of a child is something that no parent should ever suffer. :)

Well, it passed the MOT!!!!:j We threw two tyres on that it needed anyway and I dropped it off, called back an hour later and it had sailed through. AM so relieved, especially as OH has walked in and announced the other car needs work!!

Have spent an hour in the garden trying to tie anything down that is concreted down as the wind is so strong, had to give up when the wind almost knocked me over!!

Cats are all going beserk - and one has chosen to throw up on my sofa.

Gailey - DDs and bank holidays dont mix -essentially any DD due on or directly after a bank holiday are shown as leaving the account on the first working day but in actual fact are taken on the last working day prior, so any DD need the money to cover them in before the bank closes before the holiday IYSWIM. My bank also credit money due in early too, but I know lots dont.

Everyone I seem to talk to don't iron! Their clothes look absolutely fine to me but if I was to put one of my non ironed delights upon my back I would look like a crimpled, crumpled sheet!

    How do you do it?

With my sight I don't trust myself to iron without burning myself or the clothes :rotfl:, so I get the washing out straight away, give it a good shake & hang it up to dry. Luckily I don't have ex OH's shirts to do anymore (he used to sigh loudly then do his own as my ironing was never good enough) but this works for pretty much everything else.

Obviously it helps a lot that I can't usually see the wrinkles either :rotfl::rotfl: (& that I live in fleece & hiking trews :D).

Think about how much money you will save by not ironing if you need convincing!

ETA - like the new avatar - wish I looked that good in a pinny....
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...

Just doing my best to catch up as been out most of day.

so sorry fell pony for your loss. you one brave woman I would be a wreck I think.
Certainly losing loved ones puts life into perespective somewhat.
Visited grandparents over xmas they both very ill.
Also family freind has cancer and parkinsons and hes battling with nhs to get the right treatment and drugs as hes does not live in right postcode.

Prepared at home-sounds like you been through so much and comes out stronger.

Well home for little while before going back out again.
tried looking up alternative group to go this week but none in conveiniant place or time as hubbys working all week so really must go sw tonight even though think may be a gain. did walk few miles today to bank.least got free metro off the bus feel like got values worth.
Had to chuckle man in front asked driver if he was polish and he said no canadian and bloke said thats makes a change why hell you want to come over here for!

Weird bloke in poundshop talking to his mate that everydays like xmas now hes unemployed and that he intended to spend all day in pub as thats his daily ritual!

Just about to do quick tidy and make tea but could quite happily go to bed now if I could definatly need early night tonight as shattered the decluttering will have to wait.

went to school expecting to see my absent freind. took her pressies and xmas card with me but was her other half so gave bag to him.
Shes back in work tommorow after 3weeks off so doubt will see her for a while.
really hurt me shes not text me or phoned and I decided im fed up of making the effort she was invited round xmas week dident turn up or phone.
its been 2months of her being really distant dident see or hear from her at all in november!

But trying not to let it bother me want to be positive this year.

best go lots to do and kids up to no good.
might meal plan later that cheer me up.

Kidcat-well done on car hope we as lucky ours is end of month.
unsure about dd think he checked online and had not gone out on 30/31st. hes santander. im assuming may have gone providing mini statment not taking into accounnt dd and money opaid in as paid in 50 cash and balance said £1.72 in credit and cheque he reckons clear tommorow but worried hubbys bit optimistic about cheuqe clearing tommorow that could be thur.
