I was looking for bedbug remedies as I stayed in a hotel this week and found I had been a three course meal overnight... looking for ways to prevent cross infection to my house with the things I can't wash/tumble at high temperatures and found out about DE. The health benefits, whilst largely anecdotal, seem glaringly worth trying this "natural" substance to achieve.

I buy tonnes of stuff from Ebay (one of my first places I look) but with this I plan to go "legit" and want a good yet not pricey supplier.

Please let me know how you get on

When it's got some solid science behind it, I'll maybe consider it. Till it's CE marked and potentialy FDA approved, nope. You know, the mucus that's coming out could be the actual lining of your intestine...lose that and it's ulcer city.

I'm with Dr fatballs...I'd be interested in running some medical tests on any user of this stuff.

Since there will never be any "solid science" behind it, you will be waiting a long time. It seems you don't understand the system. By the way it is already FDA approved not that I have the blind faith in them that you do.

It's not blind faith. I develop medical devices so will retain my validated opinion, cheers. And it's not FDA approved for consumption.

I've read about a few things like this and I have to point out that you should be VERY careful of taking DE if you are on medication, as it can affect the absorption of medicines which will then be far less effective.


Personally, I think that excreting mucus for 4 weeks and needing enemas to clear the blockage is probably not a good sign - but each to their own.

Food Grade DE ( which is what we are talking about ) is FDA approved for internal and external use and has a rating of food chemical codex grade. Perhaps it would help if you were more informed before hijacking a thread with your anti anything your not given "official" permission to use, views.

I assume you believe that the FDA are here for our protection and that money has no part to play in any of their decisions?

As far as your comments about staying the hell away from it because it has not been scientifically proven ( in your opinion ) to be safe. There are many many very safe natural products and foods that will never be scientifically tested, due to the great costs involved. Unless it can be patented there is little to no incentive.

As an aside the FDA has approved many things usually that make someone a lot of money ) that have proved to be far from safe.

But hey you choose to accept them as your authority on what is safe, that's fine but this thread is about people that don't hold your narrow view on what is good for us.
