if they send me anything i'm just gonna return the catelogs or brochures return to sender, if everyone did that i'm sure it'll cost them enough to stop this kind of scamming0

I know this is liable to be cancelled.....as I'm not thick (Much!!), but I've just had two emails from Littlewoods confirming that my two orders have been accepted.
I placed my order over a week back, and this is the first confirmation email that I've received. I also received notification that I had been accepted for the 52 Week Credit Agreements I also requested. These two agreements brought the prices to the same value as paying out-right, so should have taken longer to process by Littlewoods.
Surely they should have realised that something was afoot, when thousands of people started buying the same laptops at the same time. It's not often that people rush out an buy the same things - at exactly the same time. This would have been so much easier if Littlewoods had have just placed a note on their Homepage stating that they'd had a !!!! up....ho hum.
Well, roll on the 20th and 21st February, as I'll be sat at home all day waiting for my 4 new laptops to arrive......NOT!!!0 -

Even more so considering you can't change your address online (at LXdirect, anyway). If you could, I'd have suggested changing it to 101 Fake Street, Faketown.
You should be able to write to the Data Protection Commissioner at their head office and request that your details be removed.0 -

That makes no sense at all. Why would they want to sign up people who don't want to shop with them and are already unhappy?
It costs Littlewoods a lot of money to set up an account and mail out catalogues, especially if there's going to be a lot of follow-up support required.
Can you not just accept that the whole thing was a mistake? Littlewoods may well be inept but they're not crooks. Can I help?0 -

.
If that were the case, how come Littlewoods are now refusing to delete accounts, as requested?
I too think this was a cunning stunt by Littlewoods, to (a) attract new accounts, possibly to meet some management target/s. or (b) to sell the Laptop with a 25% discount that some mugs may just fall for.:mad:0 -
Not everything is a conspiracy. Some things just happen. Can I help?0

Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not after you!0

The facts are:
The laptop was an obvious misprice
It was posted here (and on HUKD) as such
Everybody was told there was little chance of getting one
Many people still tried to get one or many, even using discount codes of questionalble suitability
As expected, orders were cancelled
Nobody lost any money
Nobody died
If you complain to Trading Standards or Watchdog I hope they laugh you out the building. There are genuine injustices out there that these organisations are meant to combat. To squander their time because you couldn't blag a mispriced laptop is a hideous waste of already overworked resource.
I don't really understand why it bothers you enough to post then? Those continuing the discussion aren't bothering you, so why get involved just to criticise? You obviously think there is nothing in it so why not scroll on by and post on threads that do interest you? I and some others obviously do want to continue discussing it. Why make it harder for us by clogging the board up?0 -

If the laptop had arrived, then the tranaction would have been complete. The delivery of the goods is obviously a significant part of the transaction.QUOTE]
I read it on the consumer website I did paste the link into my thread! http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/general/advertising/fs_p01.shtml0
