My Barclaycard is showing online as Pending for the amount of the laptop. This is what Barclaycard has to say about Pending Transactions:
"What is a Pending Transaction?
A Pending Transaction is a temporary charge held against your account (your available credit) relating to:
A transaction (purchase) you’ve made using your Barclaycard, which has been authorised for payment, but has not yet reached your account, or
'Reserved' funds requested by certain retailers. (e.g. upon check-in, some hotels take your Barclaycard details for an 'authorisation transaction' that reserves enough funds to cover your bill), or
A payment you’ve made to your account which has not yet cleared.
What happens to a Pending Transaction?
A Pending Transaction will either turn into a finalised transaction (purchase) or will be removed automatically within 5 to 7 days."
There are too many posts on this thread where people are just deluding themselves with wishful thinking about getting the laptop. Why don't you just give them a call once and for all and find out?
Does anyone remember that a few years ago, I believe it was Kodak, who mispriced a camera online and it hit the headlines on a lot of programs on TV? Can anyone remember what the outcome was as it was after this that companies changed their online policies.0 -
Recieved this relating to an order with WH Smith,
No contract will subsist between you and WHSmith Direct for the
sale of products by us to you until your credit/debit card has
been charged. This will be deemed to be our acceptance of your
offer and to have been effectively communicated to you. This is
to be interpreted and enforced with the laws of England, in its
entirety and will be subject to the jurisdiction of the English
courts.How much can you save Olympic ChallengeApril – 8.5%, May – 17.2%, June – 29.5%I GOT BRONZE0 -
Many people got the camera, the reason was that it was advertised if my memory serves me right as a special offer, this wasnt. I wish it was and that we get it, but here's hoping0

Yes I got that camera- the reason was the e-mail Kodak sent said that it was a receipt!!! - so they did not have a leg to stand on. Thsy had to honour it. That is when most on-line company changed their T and C's.

This may help in the argument against it being Vista:
Windows Vista home basic edition: £179.99
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Windows-Vista-Home-Basic/dp/B000KCIA0K/sr=8-2/qid=1170197454/ref=pd_ka_2/202-6296916-9677444?ie=UTF8&s=software
Windows Vista home premium edition £210.99
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Windows-Vista-Home-Premium/dp/B000KCIA3W/sr=8-3/qid=1170197439/ref=pd_ka_3/202-6296916-9677444?ie=UTF8&s=software
Why would they sell for less than Amazon?
Here's hoping we get a laptop!;)0 -
Just did a search in Google for Microsoft Office Home and Student as is stated in the order tracking, and surprise surprise!! This is what came up...
http://shopping.yahoo.com/p:Microsoft%20Office%20Home%20and%20Student%202007%20Software:1994254025
So I guess it could well be the software which they haven't yet advertised (or advertised but messed up big time!)...0 -

At checkout above the price of the laptop it said something like "with discount". That's not so very far from "Special Offer" now is it ?0
