If they have taken the money for the items you ordered - A laptop+software. And if they indeed do deliver 'something' then you got them by the proverbial balls.
The fact they've let an apparent mis-price/c0ck-up get to the stage where they are actually charging you, given it has already had to have manually been confirmed is perhaps an indication of how inept their management is at dealing with this crisis.
If they take my payment, and send me software i'll be damn sure to stick my fangs into Littlewoods.
Have not ordered one myself but another MSE has posted the following to say that during checkout their was a message to say if you paid via debit card you will be charged straight away and credit card payments wont be charged until goods are released. Don't know if this is 100% correct as i have not ordered one myselfOriginally Posted by stamford
On the checkout page it said if you were paying by a Debit Card they would take payment immediately but if a Credit Card would take it upon despatch. I paid by visa debit card bank told me this pm nothing showing on their system but it would prob update overnight. Keeping fingers crossed0 -

If you pay by Debit/CC then it's a third party you can get involved, if it goes wrong your bank should represent you and settle the issue. As it stands you've ordered via their payment system and I'd hazard a guess (witohut trawling their T&C) that you'd have less 'rights' to read them if they cancelled.0 -

That is correct. I noticed that too. However, I paid by credit card & have been charged even though the goods have not been dispatched...or have they???0 -
I reckon this is an alternative way for Littlewoods to get out of it.
Post out some software...disgruntled punter calls in.
"Sir, we're sorry just return it & we'll give you a refund"...much relief from the punter who decides he has no fight left in him to push for the laptop!0 -
They have [edit]not taken payment yet from me, paid by debit card at around 12.30 ish. I didnt get a email other than opening a new account at a address I am not living at yet until Thursday0

Thanks for the information, however what it says on their website and what they actually promise seems to vary somewhat on numerous occasions.
In this case, they have already charged some (if not all) peoples CC and debit cards, which conflicts somewhat with their commitments which you rightly quoted.
Frankly, they seem like they have no idea.0 -
HankMcSpank wrote:Cracks me up whenever we see a misprice on here...
1. Everyone wades in.
2. Some wade in for LOTS (Ebayers)
3. Everyone takes screen scrapes.
4. Lots ask about the legal standing.
5. All the armchair lawyers get flushed out.
6. Order gets cancelled (SURPRISE, SURPRISE)
7. Much bullahaloo....a lot of noise about Trading Standards
8. Everyone moves onto the next misprice.....return to step 1!
*but* you gotta be innit to winnit...I placed an order for the £149 lappy too!
Great post HankMcPank, made me chuckle :rotfl:
Hit the nail on the head with that one, roll on the next offer0 -

See this very information just speaks volumes about their company policy, they say one thing and they do another.
They claim they send out a CONFIRMATION email, and even then the order is somehow not confirmed as an order. In your case, you have no confirmation of the order, and yet they are already charging you for the order...

Paid with debit card at about 1pm, no money taken and no conformation email, cant decide if thats a blessing or not... guess it depends what everyones eventual outcome is0
