It is a bit of a pain when Dell sell you a laptop without any Windows Reinstallation CDs though. If you do wipe the hidden partition you are left without an instant way to get it up and running again. A friend of mine let someone have a go at reinstalling theirs for them without knowing exactly what they were doing and was left a bit stuck for a few days.
First thing I did when getting mine was go on to eBay and pick one up for less than £10.0 -
