I have ordered the LX direct lappy @ £129 + p&p too. My order summary says I have ordered the laptop with office home & student 2007 and I have taken snapshots of the laptop and order summary & emailed them to myself as a safety measure. I don't expect to get the laptop but heres hoping! (no order comfirmation yet)
Of course if just the software shows up we can return it can't we as it was missold? We can't lose out really here, either we get a lappy really cheap or we don't? They can't make us pay for the software only if it was advertsied with the laptop?

Well.. i ordered one a while ago, phoned them twice - once because the order hadn't processed (or so i thought) and another to see if i could cancel the 'software' being delivered.
Now, i've just recieved an email stating my order - "A100" laptop with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 PR4277 - has been confirmed
I wonder what will happen now...0 -
Why people keep going on about 'software only' stuff when it's cleary for a laptop AND the stated software is beyond me, can you not read lol
Just get ready for the cancellation emails.0 -
Why ring and flag it up??? its a pity we dont have a unhelpful button for the jobsworths!!0

I Bet the OP wished he had never mentioned it as he would have probably got it for that price, but the fact that hundreds of people have now ordered they have become wise to it:beer:0

Mr_Gordon wrote:It is a bit of a pain when Dell sell you a laptop without any Windows Reinstallation CDs though. If you do wipe the hidden partition you are left without an instant way to get it up and running again. A friend of mine let someone have a go at reinstalling theirs for them without knowing exactly what they were doing and was left a bit stuck for a few days.
First thing I did when getting mine was go on to eBay and pick one up for less than £10.
Luckily, I have a copy of Win XP here, so that's not a problem for me (it's a Dell one, too). Normally, you can't reinstall the OS without a copy of the OS on cd, so I wouldn't expect anyone to have a go without having the cd required to do it.
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

I applaud all those of you that have pointed out the fact that phoning up does us no good at all.
