This thread keeps on getting dredged up with the same arguments! I think we should all just move on and accept some people find the term offensive and some don't.

You quite clearly have speed read, and selectively so, the thread and quite clearly have no idea of what you're talking about.

Before labelling anyone with "your sort" or anything else for that matter, take a long hard look in the mirror.

All you really had to do was read my last reply to Tommy to get a good accurate idea of my argument. Obviously too many long words there though, eh? Pathetic.

I agree but they keep coming back to lay down the insults.

It really never was about the word for me but about his unwillingness to allow anyone to "speak".

I'm not sure exactly which lie Z is refering to because you posting has been seriously dishonest on several occasions.

It is, indeed, your 'sort' who damage race relations with your overbearing insistence that any harmless word that you decide is offensive should be accorded the weight and opprobrium of words that carry a vastly greater payload and thus trivialise the whole cause of anti-racism, not least by providing ammunition for thee real racists to gain ground by making fun of your absurd demands.

OK, done that. I don't remember trying to force my opinion onto other people or making absurd comments such as:

A person finding it offensive, especially a member of the group it's aimed at, makes it racist.

On which basis it would only take one person to claim that 'Scot' or 'Brit' was racist before you and your gang would be trying to bully people into not using the words.

It got deleted by the Forum team or by Azari himself as he crossed the line. Insults don't stay on the forum for long. Your ignorance in this matter is no excuse to start accusing another poster of being a liar.

I am not at all "Oh so caring", I just don't like using racist language. I'm not even that PC! I would debate the use of the world "mental" however that would open up a whole new debate and I think I may get people's back up! Therefore I will refrain from commenting on that

So you are hypersensitive to the use of a simple shortened version of an accepted word but completely oblivious to the the hurt that the term 'a mental' might cause to those with mental disabilities or their families and carers.

Why can't we all just leave sleeping dogs lie. There is no right or wrong because if there was then categoric and definitive legislation would exist.

I don't understand why some people have to keep returning to the thread using the excuse that someone else has just posted 'such and such'. Does it really matter? It's a sign of weakness and simply ammunition for those in the opposing camp(s) who see your rigid viewpoint being put forward yet again . . . with a certain indignance on your behalf that someone dare to yet again cast aspersions on your stance and opinion.

Being adult, a realist, and understanding, is knowing when to walk away from certain situations. If the thread was ignored it would soon die a death, and who cares about the odd poster here and there proffering their views . . . whether pro or anti. It's all irrelevant as you could argue the toss till doomsday and it won't be resolved, never.

There are more important things at this time of year. Merry Christmas to all posters on this thread . . . both pro and anti 'Jap' camps.
