Investigated to the extent that it's logged as 'possibly racially motivated' and then an officer makes a decision based on the evidence available.

i.e. they must not take a report of a racially motivated offence and log it in some other manner.
No - that's wrong - read the CPS definition - if you don't believe what I put down, Google it!

That is so wrong it's almost incredible that you can be making the mistake accidentally. It almost seems as if you are doing it deliberately to promote your cause.
Firstly, how can you say my opinion is wrong? Have I at any time said that you are wrong? No! I may disagree but have never said you're wrong.
And what cause, exactly? That seems a touch paranoid!

Just quote one instance where I have told anyone to use the word.
Never said you had but you insist on telling others that it's okay to use the word when they argue that it's not and that in my opinion is the same...or is my opinion wrong there, too?

You are very good at arguing, personally I think you are the best poster on the forum for defending a bad position. However you're whole argument falls down because if you had a Japanese friend you would not say "this is my jap friend"

Can you show it isn't...get some of the Japanese you claim to know on here to say it's perfectly acceptable.

Please provide a link to where I claimed to know any Japanese who had an opinion on this matter.

If you can't I'd be grateful if you would refrain from lying - even if it does demonstrate your nature to others.
It makes you out to be a somewhat silly and annoying person.

So, no name calling, then. ;)

There was no lie there as I mearly wanted you to identify to us whether you actually know any Japanese people - and it appears you don't but have decided unilaterally that the phrase "Jap" is okay to use. Mmm.

    You've already contradicted yourself.

I suppose I'm not surprised that you aren't even aware of the fact.
Firstly, how can you say my opinion is wrong? Have I at any time said that you are wrong? No! I may disagree but have never said you're wrong.

Jeez, you are confused, aren't you.

You disagree with me but you don't say I'm wrong.

With that mealy mouthed, passive aggressive, attitude no wonder you want to jump on every available PC bandwagon going.
Never said you had but you insist on telling others that it's okay to use the word when they argue that it's not and that in my opinion is the same...or is my opinion wrong there, too?

You think the term is racist and shouldn't be used.

I don't think it's racist and believe people should be free to use it if they wish.

And yet in your poor addled brain I'm the one whose telling people what to do.

You need to take a step back and get your ideas sorted out because at the moment you're barely coherent.

Couldn't quite decide...in who's defence? And who's called you a lot of names? I hope it wasn't me, as that really is not my style.

    That is not impartial.

If I see someone saying the Earth is flat and join in the argument on the side that it isn't I am not impartial.

Neither were you and your claim that you were just demonstrates your dishonesty and/or muddled thinking.

They and you are twerps because they and you are making a decision about the meaning of a word and insisting that they and you are correct when neither they nor you have provided any credible, relevant, evidence to support their decision.

Irrespective of who is right and who is wrong, you are pretty offensive. Using terms like 'goatbreath' and 'demonstrates your dishonesty and/or muddled thinking' are very confrontational, and frankly out of order. Can't you learn to express a viewpoint in a more acceptable manner? (If someone has abused you in this thread, then my point applies to them too.)

Just because someone disagrees with you does not give you the right to verbally abuse them.

Incidentally, there is now legislation in the workplace that says that if someone perceives a remark about someone to be racist, it must be investigated, and that caused a lot of fear in my workplace. The reason is that we had an extreme leftie among us, and he was the nastiest bigot I've met, who could not cope with someone expressing views he did not like. (I should add that there are very nice lefties too.)

    There was no lie

Seriously, take a step back and get yourself sorted out.

    You said:
..get some of the Japanese you to know on here

That contained a lie and now you're lying about whether you lied.

    Get a grip, man.
it appears you don't but have decided unilaterally that the phrase "Jap" is okay to use.

A word is acceptable until there is evidence that it isn't.

A few overexcited people buzzing around trying to demonstrate their PC credentials on a forum do not constitute evidence.

So far not one of you has provided a scrap of evidence that 'Jap' is offensive in this country. If it's as certainly offensive as you claim, it should be easy to show evidence. Until you do you are just twittering idiots.
