They even stopped putting them in Android phones :(

Hopefully the Galaxy Nexus having one is the start of them coming back though!

FAB the link worked today, it wasn't working for me when I last tried. Installed, turned phone off and on....MMS working.

    Thanks Rusty

Two things, my battery life has taken a massive nose dive over the last few days... case in point: I charged the phone before going to bed last night, and turned on battery saver (I don't want to be woken by some spam from Play or whatever).

When I woke up this morning, it had gone from 100% to 23% in eight hours. That is spectacularly bad, I'm hoping it's because of something I had install recently, so am investigating.

For point two; you may remember earlier in the thread I had mentioned the lack of support for sub calendars of my Google calendar, and I had to work around it using a subscription with Hotmail calendar... well now Google will allow me to sync with more than just the main calendar, which is a much better solution as the update periods on the Hotmail subscription were often longer than 24hours!

Hooray, last night my Lumia died altogether whilst on charge. First it stopped being able to open any apps, so I rebooted it. Then it failed to get any signal, and shut down. Now it will not power on, I've tried all number of button combinations, and left it on charge over night to no avail.

Off to the local care point with it tomorrow, as it's probably easier than going the 'send it back to Helsinki' route that KabbaDabbaDoo had to take.

Mine died last weekend...Monday I contacted 360 panel....i was advised to contact the DHL to arrange for a pick up. Tuesday called DHL and arranged a pickup for Wednesday. Wednesday it was collected and Friday I was delivered a replacement Lumia.
But the new one is dropping WiFi signal. I had to restart it to make it behave usual. It did it four times in the last 48 hours. I am going to watch another 2 days before calling the 360 panel for their help....

cant wait to go back to Android.

Hmm that's pretty decent service, I might go that route then.

Well the panel doesn't seem to be overly speedy on this one. Spoke to them yesterday and they said if a service centre needs to send it away, don't let them and get back to them. I've got back to them twice so far, with no response.

On the plus side, I've borrowed a friends spare phone, which happens to be an HTC Desire, I've loaded ICS onto it, and it runs great... I'll miss Android when the Lumia is sorted.
  • That was a lucky escape. I was also on the panel and DiDN'T get an invite...

    Dodged that Windows Phone bullet...
(could have always tossed it in the bin I suppose).

Anyone know how many they have given away and if they are counting them as real sales to real users? As Windows Phone sales are dire, and this makes it sound like they are plumping up the numbers...

Yeah it does suck to be given £400 pieces of equipment ;)

Have you spent a reasonable amount of time with WP7? It's pretty nice software, really wouldn't call it a bullet to dodge.
