You can check the %age in the battery saver settings. Not quite as convenient, but at least it lets you know.

Thanks- its a pain though isn't it. Very surprised there is no app on the market that shows the battery as a prcentage. my phone is telling me another update is available - anyone know what this update is for?

Couple of things - download 'redlaser' from the marketplace, it's a new shopping app that reads barcodes and looks for the cheapest prices, seem to work very very well

Plus a new sports app for people who are into that sort of thing

I use Endomondo for sports tracking, although that doesn't look bad, I used it on my N95 back when it was Nokia Sports Tracker.

ShopSavvy is also worth having, it's similar to RedLaser.

Anyone know of a suitable external battery charger for the Lumia 800? I would like something similiar to this:
New Trent iCruiser IMP1000 (from amazon - unable to post link due to new member rules)

but not sure if its compatible - anyone know?

thanks but the reason i ask is on the amazon product info it states:

"It can not support any device which are compliant with the USB dumb charger specification, such as Nokia N900, Samsung Galaxy Tablet"
