!!!!!! I had no idea people on benefits got a christmas bonus either.

i get SFA from my employer. maybe i should ask my boss where my extra tenner is this year, or where my inflation-linked raise was for the last two :(
It's only certain people on benefits. Take a look at the list and then see if you still begrudge it.
    Who is eligible?

To get a Christmas Bonus you must be a resident in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Gibraltar, any EEA country, or Switzerland. You must also be entitled to at least one of the following benefits in the qualifying week (normally the first full week of December):
    • Attendance Allowance
    • Carer's Allowance
    • Constant Attendance Allowance (paid under Industrial Injuries or War Pensions schemes)
    • Contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance (once the main phase of the benefit is entered after the first 13 weeks of claim)
    • Disability Living Allowance
    • Incapacity Benefit at the long-term rate
    • Industrial Death Benefit (for widows or widowers)
    • Mobility Supplement
    • Pension Credit - the guarantee element
    • State Pension (including Graduated Retirement Benefit)
    • Severe Disablement Allowance (transitionally protected)
    • Unemployability Supplement or Allowance (paid under Industrial Injuries or War Pensions schemes)
    • War Disablement Pension if over State Pension age
    • War Widow's Pension
    • Widowed Mother's Allowance
    • Widowed Parent's Allowance
    • Widow's Pension
I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!

The christmas bonus when first introduced was the equivilent of 2 weeks state pension but has never been increased with inflation it would now be around £100 now if it had
  • Last year and the year before I gave my xmas bonus to my great grandma as she is 94 and need it!

I'm so having to bite my lips about the "normal" comment!
    1. Depends on household income
    2. school meals you work, so can't see you getting any assistance with that.
    3. Car allowance for what exactly?

  • i have a NORMAL autistic daughter. Hubs works full time and i work part time. Depending on how old your daughter is, you wont get any ease on your council tax (maybe when she/he reaches adulthood you might, if they are still living with you), you wont get free school meals (i assume that is what you meant?) and you will only get car allowance if you son daughter is on the highest rate of dla mobility otherwise you wont get anything.
life is what you make it, make it fun !

Thanks for your response. My daughter its mid mobility so,I assume not worth asking about car allowance
