Packups made & fish fed, washing on the line & cake crumbs all over the floor!
I made chocolate cake to take to work it's covered in chocolate spread which I used to stick chocolate fingers all round the sides & topped it with marshmallows.
Thanks for all the good wishes yesterday I am now officially 60 years old.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester
That cake sounds gorgeous!! Is there a recipe on here for it? And happy birthday for yesterday!!0 -
Good Morning All! Missing last week as had my sister and brother-in-law, brother and Ds staying for middle of week. Lovely to see my family for a bit! sadly DS went home at w/e, very depressed...yes, another 999 call from us and he is now in hospital yet again, having taken a further OD. Life eh?
have a busy week now, with an inspection report to write, plus two sets of minutes to type up. Oh and the events of five weeks time(Yikes) are beginning to loom large under "things to do urgently". Actually last week meant that the wider family presents are all bought, wrapped and exchanged, so things could be worse.
Hester - being 60 is OK!! Really! I found my fifties felt worse age wise than my sixties are proving to be! I hope you have a lovely day and get treated well by your colleagues. I like bithday celebrations which spread over two days - just make the most of it!
Well, I need to catch up somewhat on what everyone's up to. Nice to see you posting again, Halight! (HUGS) to all the poorlies and those feeling low atm. Take care everyone.Resolution:

Morning All,
Island Maid, so sorry to hear about Bruno, it is awful loosing a pet, they really are part of the family. :grouphug:
I have had a reasonably decent day. Work was alright, a rather long day, but at least my lessons went well and the I feel like i managed to teach the kids something.
Took a sandwich in for lunch again, with a banana and a mandarin. Then had a cup soup and a slice of bread for dinner. The temperature dropped about 15 degrees from Saturday to Sunday, and it is now freezing here, so getting up in the morning proved extremely difficult today.
Oh well, another day is over, only four more until the weekend :rotfl::rotfl:
have a good day everyone, sending hugs and positive vibes to all those who need them.0 -

Promise me you stick some sunglasses on and drag your butt round the block, in the fresh air, for a brisk walk. If you can manage to raise your heart rate even better x
Morning everyone.
Tired here. Lots of late nights catching up with me. DS tired and weepy about going to school todayHate having to leave him like that.
Need to go get a couple of bits for food shopping, put vac round, dust, get some baking done if I can (Twinks for quickness) and I want to have a go at making some Christmas cards as I am massively behind in my crafting
Tea tonight? Pass, haven't even looked at the planner but I will do that later.
Hester - Happy birthday, hope you don't kill anyone at work today but if you do I am sure they'll let you off on the grounds of it being your 60th today :rotfl::beer:
Farmers Wife - At the bottom of your album in FB there will be reference to a public link that you can use so non friends can see your pics. Not sure if it mentions your name though so just be wary. Alternatively you can upload a pic to Flickr or Photobucket and then just copy and paste the link or image itself to a post on the thread.
Sorry if I missed anyone. I really need to get a move on. Hugs and spoons all round xxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Looks like a trip to town for inspiration and some shopping, cant get in the mood this year, think its because I'm working 12 hour shifts on 24th, 25th and 26th, so no dinner for me , we will all get together and do it for new year instead!
Have a good day all, Lou try some fresh air xxRIP Iain

Morning All,
Grotty today. Filthy cold that is on my chest so went over the shop and am now in my jim jams on the sofa. Should have been doing my shift at the Hospice shop, but couldn't like this.:o
DD gave me this cold. Haven't had anything since I left work, now this. Aah well ......
Cat is asleep on my bed. Wish I could sleep as well and as long!:rotfl:
Happy belated birthday Hester!
Just ordered shopping from Asda. decided it was easier for me than trying to get it all on Weds. Holding a dinner party Saturday night, hope I can manage it okay.
My motability car is due to go back in January, we applied to buy it and they want £8365. Looked up Glass's Guide and it's worth between £5,100 and £6500! So how can Motability justify £3000 more? Not going to bother. Also they have changed the rules about insurance from January. All additional drivers have to live within five mikes of the disabled person. My OH lives 80 miles away in his own place, but at weekends and when we go away he drives my car as an additional driver. He won't ba able to next year, so I'm giving it up. It costs me £200 a month in DLA money, plus petrol and sits in the garage for at least 3 days a week so it's not really economically viable. I have a scooter and a free bus pass, and there are cabs available!
(((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) if you need them.
Have a good day, back to the tissues for me:)I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Happy birthday Hester x
Back in work today after a month off  It's not too bad, have spent most of morning talking about my trip. I don't actually have much work to do today. There have been a few changes whilst I was away and the next group of kids won't start til next week. Quite a few colleagues are out of office today so I will get caught up tomorrow morning, but I know the jist of it all. So I'm currently deleting my inbox :rotfl:.Am taking some HM celery soup to work for lunch.
