  • Morning all

Jojo - (((hug))) 'the truth will out' hopefully sooner rather than later for your DD1. Continue to send presents, cards etc IMHO. I wish I'd continued to with my late OH's children.
Mudders - sorry for the loss of your old puppy dog.

I'm in again this week. Trying the Pollyanna thing but not sure how well I'm going to do. This time of year is bittersweet (OH was off work sick and in a lot of pain, but still not diagnosed (sp?) this time 2 years ago). He went all out at xmas for his kids and it breaks my heart that they no longer have that.

Tonight when I get home from w*rk I shall make a start on kitchen and will do sunroom at same time.

    Toots list for week:

    Stitch fleeces onto bedroom curtains
    Put boxes in loft
Strip wallpaper off one wall in lounge

Things I'm glad for - my cats, they cost a lot but they're worth it. My house, has the potential to be turned into an OS house (decent size garden for veggie patch and chickens)

    Speak later xx
  • Not a very promising start for me as so far I've got the kids to school and, um, hung up a quilt cover on the shower rail to dry. Nothing else done as just got back from helping at school. Going to grab a sandwich and get the rest of the washing up and try to make the beds before out again to post a parcel and got a meeting at 1.

Oh, I did bring the black bin in from outside - does that count?

I've had a shower, S&S the bathroom, made the beds, tidied my room and the landing, wiped condensation off DS1's window and opened all the windows.

I'll be back later to do some more. The house is looking a lot better already with not much effort.
  • Monday - kitchen and dining room

    Sweep and mop the floor
    done yesterday (DH did it!!!)

My Pollyanna moment today is that I am glad I have some really great music on my iPhone so I can get on and get my ‘to do’ list at work done! Also glad I checked our British Gas bill as we were over £350 in credit! Requested a refund and have booked a holiday to Amsterdam in February! Very smiley!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Hi, I haven't been flying since the spring, but I think I'm ready to hop back in for winter now if thats ok. Final straw was realising the camera for which I have been looking for months was in a ''temporary'' to sort box in the sitting room.

Dining room done, will be doing kitchen later.

Check this link for last posting dates for parcels and overseas mail and all other mail. I think I'm be posting the boyfriendish's presents as he's being aloof again
When is the last date for ordering your turkey? We'll be having a frozen joby so I'll pick it up over the next couple of weeks and stick in the freezer
Can you book an online delivery slot yet? Not even looked into this yet, will have a look later :)
  • Dusty - I'm ok, I'm just more prone to a few tears than normal (although the John L*wis ad didn't make me blub or well up!, but secret millionaire and watching the Dowlers give evidence on the news at lunchtime did). I decided a few months ago to look at what I have, not what I don't and 95% of the time I can do this! I do feel much happier and less pressured, also more content.

I'm keeping busy, I shall be following the lists and trying not to procrastinate about other things I need to do!

I shall be fine and I'm actually looking forward to xmas this year. Boots have got xmas cards and gift tags 50% off (as found on the grabbit board). If you spend over £20 they'll deliver it to the store for free.

Seafarers - Happy birthday, my apologies, forgot to put it in my previous post.

Jojo - you're getting a real, live, lovely kitten??????????

Yup. On Wednesday. I must be insane.

Minion has had her orthotics appointment, she is now sitting in the armchair eating Mr S Basics Chicken Soup (which is well worth the 19p I paid for it at the time) and I am avoiding answering the phone, which is bound to be the school wondering why she isn't in again. Despite having told them and provided the appointment letter. It won't help that she has the dentist tomorrow afternoon and then has to leave early for her cervarix jab on Kitten Day. Like I can control when these places are open!

So sorry about your dog, though [[[[[[hug]]]]]]].

And gecko, thanks. I refuse to lavish money on someone who is a complete cow, but I can't exclude her (and I do miss her awfully, if not her nastiness leading up to walking out). Bought her present today. Something she needs for college, but willing to bet that she doesn't want or need it when it comes from me.

Anyhow, self pity over, I have a kitchen to find under the gibble. :o

    And I'm off!
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Levels one and two done, a swish and swipe of the living room underway. Not really putting any effort in though as it looks like my other half will be losing his job. It's very complicated but he hasn't passed security clearance for some of the sites he will have to be working on, which we can appeal, but we don't know why he didn't pass it yet. It feels like deja vu as the company he was working for this time last year went bust about now. and he was jobless over Christmas. The Pollyanna in me says we've been here before and survived, I'm sure we can do it again, but I was hoping we wouldn't have to.

Oh well, must sweep LR floor and get the bins out before it gets dark, then take Ollie to the doctors at 4.30 (he's currently snoring on the sofa).
    So, there are these boys,
    They kinda stole my heart,
    They call me Mummy
