Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

There are 3 levels per day with Level 1 being very basic, level 2 in the middle, up to 3 which is more advanced and time consuming. Feel free to mix and match to suit your own personal circumstances.

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

Post 2 this week is going to be for challenges

As lots of you appeared to like the idea of challenges I am setting you 12 this week! They will fall into 2 types, 6 of each.

    Personal Challenges :starmod:

    Monday Pollyanna Day
Let’s try to start the week in a really positive way. If you have never read the book Pollyanna then you’ve missed a real treat! If you have you will know the idea. Today I want you to play Pollyanna:

Pollyanna's philosophy of life centres on what she calls "The Glad Game", an optimistic attitude she learned from her father. The game consists of finding something to be glad about in every situation. It originated in an incident one Christmas when Pollyanna, who was hoping for a doll in the missionary barrel, found only a pair of crutches inside. Making the game up on the spot, Pollyanna's father taught her to look at the good side of things—in this case, to be glad about the crutches because "we didn't need to use them!"

    Tuesday Go outside Day
I want you to spend 10 minutes today outside (or looking through the window) enjoying the season. Look at the birds, the beauty of the plants in your garden even those which are stripped bear. Whilst you are out there see if there are any evergreens, seedheads, berries which you will be able to use for Christmas decorations. If you don’t have a garden then a brief stroll somewhere close by would be good.

    Wednesday Health Check
When life is busy it is easy to forget to keep an eye on your own health but it is so important. So today I want those breasts checked ladies and I can think of no excuses. Now is also a great time of year to get appointments at dentists and opticians if you are overdue a visit as they get lots of cancellations. Have you stashed your supplements away at the back of a cupboard hoping they will work by osmosis?

    Thursday Feet glorious Feet
Feet work so hard and so unloved. Today exercise yours. How high can you lift your toes? Can you lift individual toes? Keeping your feet on the floor try to move your big toes towards each other. Use a spare rolling pin or tennis ball to massage the soles of your feet. Can you pick up small items like beanbags with your feet? Get the kids involved too.
Treat them to a soak and moisturise (your feet not the kids). Foot treat products make great gifts.

    Friday Keep in Contact
Phone somebody you haven’t spoken to in ages and make their day. Don’t wait until Christmas to send a card asking how they are, do it in person. For those of you who will struggle with this go and read a bit of a board on here you have never visited. You don’t have to post.

    Weekend Unfinished business
How many of you have projects half finished? Knitting that needs making up, books started but not finished, decorating all but the finishing touches done. By leaving these things almost there we are denying ourselves the joy of seeing a finished product, the satisfaction of standing back and saying “it’s done”. This weekend try to get one thing which you have already started and has been pending completion finished for good.

    Preparing for Christmas Challenges:rudolf:

    Monday dates
Advent starts next Thursday, have you got your calendars or candles?
Check this link for last posting dates for parcels and overseas mail and all other mail.
When is the last date for ordering your turkey?
Can you book an online delivery slot yet?

    Tuesday outfits
Check any outfits you need for parties over the festive period. Do they need cleaning, check buttons and hems. Do you have the shoes/bag/accessories to hand.
Have you got to prepare a costume for the Christmas play?
Even if you are not going out for Christmas could you wear a favourite outfit at home?

Wednesday season of goodwill and forgiveness
Simple one today for you all, I want you to forgive yourself for something you have done in the past (distant or more recent). It can be a bad decision you made, something you said, something you didn’t do. Stop it being in your head. Accept that you are human, you made a mistake and you completely forgive yourself for it. Now enjoy your day.

    Thursday Festive Food
Although stir up Sunday has just passed it’s not too late to make a pudding or a cake. My fantastic pudding recipe can be made just a week in advance. Have you got all the recipes and ingredients you need for any festive dishes? Cake boards and decorations to hand? Chocolate Yule logs are fun for kids and those who love chocolate.

    Friday Festive Drinks
Have a think about drinks over the festive period. Mulled wine, Bucks Fizz, fruit cocktails, fizzy water and red cordial, prosecco? Try something new. Check any glasses you will need over the festive period are clean and sparkling

    Weekend Check your Lights
How does it happen that the lights are working fine when you put them away but mysteriously are no longer working when you get them back out 11 months later? Check all your Christmas lights this weekend and spend many a frustrating hour moving the bulbs around the string to ascertain which ones are faulty. A job to delegate if ever there was one!
