Credit is only used as back up source whne there is not enught fund available in the bank account
This is really odd because I have purchased half a dozen individual items from different sellers on Ebay over the last week and the option to change my payment method from Bank Account to Credit Card has been visible and worked on all the transactions.

My bank account is verified and contains enough money and I also have two verified credit cards on the Paypal account.

The only thing that annoys me is that it isn't possible to set the credit card as the default method of payment any more. It has to be changed on each transaction.

Indeed it is quite odd, but if you read previous postings in this thread you will notice few more people have the same problem, so not only me ....

It is really annoy me as I always want to pay via Credit Card due to various obvious advantages of doing so ...

Yes I have read the whole thread and realise that you are not alone.

I am at a loss to explain why this is happening.

I'm off to look at some usenet threads about Ebay and will report back if I can see any pattern.

Thanks for the head. I have done everything I could. I have reported it to PayPal. You know how difficult it is to get in touch with them using their CS phone number.

Their explanation is simple. The vendors have the option to choose between paying by bank a/c or credit cards.

But TBH I do not fully believe this as I have bought about 10 itemsmore after their explanation even from ordinary individual sellers, it still tcome from paying with current a/c with no otpion to pay by credit card. It easy to recognise that PayPal will prefer peple to pay using instant bank a/c.

It drives me mad, as I have huge advantages with paying by credit card . Apart from grace period of one month, building credit records, I also use it to cash £5 a month from my Halifax reward clarity Card if I reach the £350.00 threshold a month.
