Paypal Stop allowing people to pay by Credit Cards ?

I normally pay the stuffs that I have bought from eBay with PayPal.

In the past start from last month (I believe) PayPal do not allow me to pay by credit card. In the past normally when the source of funding have been asked, there are two option available:
1. Instant transfer from a verified Bank a/c which have been verified by Paypal
2. From a credit cards (CC)

But Since last month they do not allow me to pay by CC anymore, even for small transaction say less than £20.00. PayPal will only use CC as a back up when there are not enough funding in the current a/cs.

I prefer to pay to PayPal by Credit for multifold reasons:
- I prefer to use the CCs transaction more often to built and improve credit rating.
- As I have several CCs, thus to prevent my CCs being closed for dormancy or avoid dormancy penalty fee.
- To take advantage of grace period for not paying the money up to one month offered by the credit cards.

My question is:
1. Is that true that nowadays PayPal will only allow their customer to pay by instant bank transfer and do not allow CCs payment anymore ?

2. In case 1 is correct is that anyway or loophole where I could still pay by CCs considering the benefit I will get by paying using credit cards ?

Thank you for your reply

How would Paypal know the balance of your current account?

They may use the balance in your Paypal account first, to which the only response is that Paypal are not a bank - never keep money in your Paypal account. They may also provide your current account as the first option and give you a link to "Change funding source". But I'd also say that it is unwise to give Paypal access to your bank account funds.

I used my cc twice last week with Paypal for stuff I bought on eBay, so you can still use them
Debt free and staying that way!

same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago buying something from a high street shop online and it wouldnt take payment via cc so I just used cc via the onlin shop itself. Paypal would have lost out on commision.

    Nope.

I had the same issue with two of my credit cards.

I managed to buy something with Sainsburys online with one of the cards the about 30 minutes before but paypal refused to accept it.

And it's pointless trying to phone them up as you get an automated voice.

In the end I left the purchase but 2 weeks later my cards where accepted.

The only thing I can guess is that they are doing some work on their system.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

cancel the dd , it will then go back to using card. dd is cheaper for them
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

No they would not. But anyway this question is irrelevant to what I am asking. If you have several credit cards with high spending limits than it could be taken from CCs. They allowed this in the past. But for some reason since last month (?) they did not provide this alternative.
