Do not know what is actually going on.
But for your info it is not just both of us have this problem. If you read this thread few more people also have similar problems ?

But there are more people with or without verified a/c have confirmed that they could still pay PayPal with Credit Cards ? We need to hear more people with verified a/c about their experience so we could learn more what is actually going on .....

    Hello Adindas,

I too have seen the same behaviour since our bank account was verified by PayPal. I have been looking high and low for a solution and I think the only way is to change the bank account used and never again agree to the process of verifying the bank account.

Your bank may allow you to create an online savings account so you can use this account number rather than have to go through changing your current account.

If any other workarounds are found please let us know!!!

    Cheers, Zagazoo
  • Yes, I recently paid by credit card. The default was to pay from my Paypal account backed up by my current account. The option to change it to paying from my credit card was well hidden (whereas it used to be clearly displayed) but the option is still there.

    Dear MarkFromMullion

Could you please let me know approximately where is that option. In my screen on PayPal payment screen I do not see that options anymore. I used to able to change that default option and choose to the credit card payment option but it seems it has disappeared now.

Sorry as this is off topic and doesn't really have any relevance to anything, but just to satisfy my curiosity, why do you always put your reply above the quote? No-one else does it this way and your method involves more work.

I'm not complaining - just genuinely curious!

It does not involve more work.
When we put queries below the quote, the queries might go unnotice, especailly if the quotation is quite long.

Yes, I'll take notes next time I buy something on ebay and will report back.

It might not involve more work for you but it does involve more work and potential confusion for the reader, who has to read the comment, then the quote - so until that point you don't know which previous post the comment refers to - and then perhaps re-read the comment in the light of the quote.

PayPal will attempt to take funds for a purchase from funding sources according to a specified funding hierarchy, regardless of what funding source is listed as "primary" in the account-holder's profile.

The funding hierarchy is (1) a balance in the PayPal account; (2) a PayPal credit account, PayPal Extras, PayPal SmartConnect, or Bill Me Later (if selected as primary funding source); (3) a verified bank account; (4) other funding sources, such as non-PayPal credit cards.
One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.
  • I have a verified PayPal account with two credit cards registered (not expired) & when I recently made a purchase on ebay the only payment option was instant bank transfer. The option to pay by credit card has disappeared.
