Last night hubby sprung a lovely/dreadful suprise on me : this thursday night he is taking me to a fundraiser thingy at Hampton Court Palace hosted by David Attenbrough & Trevor McDonald:eek::eek:
    :T

That sounds really exciting. No idea of dress code but hope you get it sorted.

Today and tomorrow will be strange days for me. Tomorrow afternoon I'm off to the hospital for a barium enema, so its almost no food for me til tomorrow tea time and today I have to have two sachets of picolax and stay near the toilet!!!!!
Did almost nothing around the house over the weekend so I'm hoping to get tidied up and some cleaning done between trips to the loo. Also I must get on with some more indexing , I have quite a bit more to do on the Complete Kitchen Equipment Collection.

Sympathies to Moggins bad heads are awful.
Agree PP the answer to needing less sleep is age, used to need at least 8, now 6 is more than enough.

Lillibet - Dress Code today is very flexible, as long as it looks Smart, ie clean and tidy, and not jeans it will probably be fine. Especially for an Ecology thing, they won't be for wasting money on fancy clothes, more for looking after the planet.

    Have a good day all.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Hi everyone :hello:

Haven't logged on for what seems like ages as we've all had a flu bug :( Much better today though :)

Had a lovely few days staying with my mum - she is so OS it's not true! She has bought a *huge* box of seville oranges from a wholesaler and is snowed under with marmalade making. we had a very tasty roast chicken with orange too - deeelicious.

Excited as I'm starting my meal planner for the first couple of weeks of Feb, I've ordered an organic veg box for the first time in ages, put in a meat order with a farm shop locally, and plan for this morning is to take the boys down to the seaside to visit the quayside fish stall and see if we can pick up something for the freezer. I also have my first-ever bottle of Stardrops in the cupboard and am sadly excited at the thought of cleaning  Just as well really as the place really needs some TLC!

Going to get myself a :coffee: and see if I can catch up with some of the OS threads from last week.

    Hope everyone is OK.

  • Hi

Have had a bit of an odd weekend, but very productive :) I had my last day at work of friday, it was really wierd, I'm really pleased about my new job but it felt quite difficult saying goodbye to some people. Managed to get through it without any tears though :D

My dad came up for the weekend to help with the packing. We've made some great progress and I just need to find some more boxes to finish off the last of the packing. Managed almost the whole weekend without any cross word being said... think if he'd had his way half my stuff would now be in the bin!! :rotfl:

Anyway today is a case of more packing, hope to get some cleaning done and a couple of loads through the washing machine. Dads taken my TV away so won't have any temptation there, just need to make sure I don't spend the whole day on here!!

:grouphug: hugs to all who want/need them :grouphug: hope all of you who are feeling a bit under the weather feel better soon

    take care

    Morning everyone.

Have had computer probs, but DS2 took it home with him Saturday, and has now delivered back a totally (fingers crossed!) rebuilt, error-free laptop :D

So far even my internet connection seems to be holding, so maybe today's my day! Should I go buy a lottery ticket?

Didn't get round to roasting the lamb yesterday, so that means a full roast tonight instead:T Love eating it, not so sure about all the washing up afterwards though:rotfl: (no dishwashericon9.gif) Just got to decide which veggies to do. I went a bit mad when I was shopping and have a fridge crammed full of them, to the point that every time I open the door something falls out on me! It's bad enough having cupboards like that, without it spreading to the fridge:rotfl:

Well must get off, loads to do today.

    (((hugs))) for the poorly ones.

    Hello all,

Am up early this morning want to go to the market and check out the new grocers. Didn't get the shopping done yesterday, will do it today instead.

I'm seriously dithering over it - I'm unsure whether to get a whole chicken and make it stretch to Roast Chicken, Enchiladas and BBQ chicken OR to get a pack of chicken thighs (BOGOF) OR to get a pack of thighs and drumsticks (BOGOF). Decisions, decisions. Plus, I've no idea what size chicken to buy - I need 2 of us for 3 meals at least

Other than that today I need to take a look at my electronics notes, so that I dont turn up on Thursday not even knowing how to wire a plug

Edit: Oh and thanks for the thanks Rzl! :)
