    Morning everyone :)

Ds is on the mend and back to school today so DD and I will have a bit of peace and quiet.

Mini drama in our house last night. Just as we were closing up to go to bed the smoke alarm went off downstairs. Our utility was filled with smoke and there was a really strong smell of burning electrics. The tumbledryer was puffing out smoke (punishment from the God of OS maybe for using it?) and the room was dripping with condensation. We live in a wierd new house where there are no windows in the utility and my guess is it got overheated although there is an extractor. Feel grateful nothing worse happened but am now going to have to stick to drying clothes on airers until we go to Oz as there isn't much point in buying a new one.

We are going through a strange idea of trying to build a house in OZ (do an Aussielass) whilst in the U.K, I have seen a very reasonable plot of land on an established development in the area that we want to live in and are soooo tempted to go forward. Oh and I have scheduled in next weekend to talk seriously about it and perhaps put in a cheeky offer and test the water. It's sooo exciting.

Os wise, the house is looking nice after a bit of a flylady before dd's birthday. I need to make a haddock and spinach bake for dinner and a small pile of ironing.

Have a lovely day and hugs to those who need them.

    Edit : ((((anniebooklover))))

    Hi all

Got a bit of a lie in today:j dh wanted me to get up at 6.30am! as lo was driving him nuts:rotfl: :rotfl: men!!

Still trying to find a snowsuit for lo, why does no one stock them! might get one off freecycle i think!

Dh only slept for half an hour last night or so he says:rolleyes: he was up middle of night making 2 loaves in bm, dishes washed, tidying up! what was wrong with him:rotfl: he has just gone up for a sleep!

Anyway have decided to try my hand at card making, got some stuff from squishy yesterday, looks good, gave me a copy of the do crafts magazine, so that gives me some ideas on what to do.

    Hugs

  • Morning all. Been up a while and started on moggins kitchen list for today, only done half of it, but it's looking better already. tinkerbelluk I might have to try that method with our oven shelves, though we only have 1 washing powder tablet thingy left at the moment.

Back to work today and lots to do, but then there's always lots to do, it's my turn to drive this week. Must remember to pop to Argos at lunchtime and pick up the new catalogue. Dinner is already made and in the fridge, just need to remind the BF just before I leave work to pop it in the oven. Someone coming to pick up some books I put on freecycle tonight, and I had a really nice email this morning from someone who picked up one yesterday, so I'm really glad I chose her to give it to out of the ones that were interested.

Time to get ready for work. Have a good day everyone. Hugs to you all

Got a huge lump of pork left from last nights roast - not quite sure what to do with it - any suggestions? My mind seems to have gone blank - mind you - that's par for the course these days.

Hope you all have a great day and hugs to those in need.

I fry an onion and garlic until soft. Add a tin of tomatoes and some curry paste (Pataks is my favourite) and the cooked meat cut into cubes. Simmer for about an hour. I often freeze this and have it with rice, naan and salad as an easy HM supper.

Shirley Park - thanks for the reminder about the Argos catalogue. DS has taken mine for an art project, so I need another. :T

Mushy Peas - my secret for getting up early is getting older :D  I used to need 9 hours a night, and 2 long lies at the weekend. I work well on 7 hours, and early starts at the w/e, too.

  • Morning everyone.

I was up at 5:30 this morning to my hungry baby. It was a bit of a shock compared to the 7am he's been doing, but overall, after some go-go juice (tea) i think i'm ahead where i normally am by this time. DH also got up and has left for work early, so fingers crossed he gets home early tonight.

    breakfast: porridge and prunes
    lunch: portion of leftover stew
dinner: leftover omlette or frittata (sausages from yesterday)

I am going to be trying to fly, not snack as the health kick starts again today, and try to do some more work on the index i am doing. I need to read some old threadsand try to reign in the budget a bit. Grocery shop for January was over £350 (although that did include a big stock up on nappies as they were on roll back) for 2 adults, 3mo baby and 2 cats. I was much better than this a few months ago bb (before baby) and the maternity pay only runs for another couple of months so i need to sort it now. I'm going to have some feb resolutions. as i didn't really think about it last month.

big hugs to moggins. hope your head clears quickly. Go on then, i'll chuck in a few more hugs for those who want them. ;)

    Morning All:j

Well, my house is a total tip so I need to spend today getting it in order. I'm hoping I can get it tidied, have a mamouth attack on the laundry, dust & polish & try to hack my way through the pile of rubbish in the cupboard under the stairs so that I can get within grabbing distance of the freezer again:o. Then I'll vacuum & give the kitchen & bathroom a deep clean tomorrow. That should put us vagluey back on track;)

I am feeling very pleased with my OS skills this weekend, went to a birthday party & didn't have the cash for a hostess gift so knocked up a sponge cake in the morning, when we arrived the birthday cake hadn't so my sponge got used instead:D Also instead of buying a new pair of winter boots I remembered I had 2 pairs in the loft which had never fitted my calves properly so got them down & took a pair of scissors to them, I only want then to go under trousers so no-one will know about my dodgy modifications and now I have 2 new pairs for £0:D. AND (yes, there's more!), my washing machine has chewed holes in one of my favourite bras & stretched another out of shape, I looked at buying replacements but decided to whip a needle & thread out & with a bit of patience I have adjusted them to both fit better minus the holes:D I reckon I saved myself at least £70 over all:D

Last night hubby sprung a lovely/dreadful suprise on me : this thursday night he is taking me to a fundraiser thingy at Hampton Court Palace hosted by David Attenbrough & Trevor McDonald:eek::eek: We have no baby sitter lined up & he doesn't know the dress code (even if he did I'm sure I'll have nothing to wear!) David Attenbrough is one of Hubbys big heros & it is an environmental awareness thingy (I'm not entirely sure TBH:o) to do with our local stretch of the Thames, as hubby is a ecology ranger he got an invite! I'm sure we can find a baby sitter although it is rather short notice, but I need to know the dress code and hope something I've got will work as I really can't afford to go shopping for it! Anyone got any experience of this sort of thing?

    Have a fab day everyone:T
