Hmmm, it is interesting to see that some banks don't charge to receive international payments, so I should think about changing.

Just a note, the charge/fee is not mentioned on my bank statement, I get a letter from RBS stating the exchange rate used and the fact that the amount has been reduced by £7 for receiving the payment. Do others from other banks get this type of letter. Just wondering how you know there is no charge, as only looking at my statement I wouldn't know.

    Thanks.

Am currently waiting for some sort of statement/letter to arrive to see whether I got charged by HSBC. Will update when it comes.

I bank with Nationwide - I rang them to ask and they said they do not charge to receive international payments. HTH :)
  • Lloyds TSB do charge - there's a deduction on £7 on my CHAPS reciept, which matches what the counter staff told me when I asked (though the the person I asked in my local branch wasn't 100% sure).

LTSB write to me every time I get an international payment giving me a breakdown of the payment received and the exchange rate used and each time the payment I received in my LTSB account matched exactly the amount I was expecting with no deductions or charges... lucky me then!
