Hi there -
I am new! (ta da!)
EDIT: I had to come back in because I see a giant NEWBIE sign hung under my palm tree. HAHAHAHHAHA
I have been working for ABH for the last 5 months. I had one incident of "retraining" which I passed. Went to all the meetings asked questions and STUCK TO THE DIRECTIVES....
and got my walking papers yesterday because it seems my ratings did not coincide with some such thing. I have read through this thread and realize that it is not an uncommon story.
I am sad because it was a nice gig.
Ironically - they also sent an email with the BRAND NEW RATING SPECS! Something tells me I got caught in something somewhere and I was last to know.
Anyhow -
I applied and LB and LF today.
They are all starting to bleed into each other.
So if anyone else is in the midst of that waiting to hear game -
I'm there!0 -
This usually happens if you apply to LF first/at the same time, which is why you should always do LB, then LF afterwards. Not that I'm 100% sure that that's the issue in your case, but am assuming so if they've now offered you a chance to qualify for a different position. (Cos while both jobs are with LB, the end client is NOT the same!)
I got put forward for this last May. Never bothered taking the exam in the end as the task was WAY too difficult, and I estimated it would've taken me something ridiculous like 8 hours to rate all of the examples. I actually talked about it at the time on pages 49/50 of this thread.
Suppose the job could possibly have changed since then, though..
Thanks MallRat, spent last night reading through the thread, only covered like 1/10 of it lol, but read the pages you mentioned. I kind of worked out that I am best to start with LB, then LF then Appen, so I am a total niewbie to it.
Feel a bit like they are taking a mickey though, because I'd applied for the Judge position an hour after they sent me an email, only to get one back saying that position is now filled! Honestly!
I read a lot about metric system here too, what does it do? Thanks0 -

Should've read your previous posts. Sorry! In that case, I'm not really sure why LB rejected you. I got in pretty easily a couple of years ago, but doubt the same thing would happen now. Namely cos I'm not a smartphone/tablet user though, which both now seem to be requirements according to the job criteria..

Had a similar experience with them last year. They at least allowed me to take and fail the exam first before telling me there were no jobs available, though.I read a lot about metric system here too, what does it do? Thanks
You're probably best asking the current Appen workers about this. For one, it was complicated, and secondly, things might have changed since I was doing the job, as I was fired about a year ago. I also believe that if you apply for WSE nowadays you can end up getting put forward for various different roles, so of course the metrics systems are likely to vary as well.0 -
Got a 'possibly suitable candidate' email today, think I will take it one step at the time with them. Thank you!0

I think that's the standard rate when being paid in euros. Although I must say we tend not to mention any actual figures around here, as it could potentially get us in trouble. (For some reason, these companies like to keep exact details about pay/the work itself a secret.) So you MAY want to edit the previous post. Not that they're likely to identify you and stop your application or anything, but it it's good to be on the safe side..0

Oops, sorted! Thanks for the advice, didn't think it!0

Hey again!
So I just got back on the payroll at Appen Hill... CROWD SOURCING.
I'm not sure how I feel about it.
I did apply to LB and got a response but opted out signing up because of this whole Appen thing.
Having said that - how long should a person wait before re-applying with one of the other groups (lb/lf/appen)?0 -

You can do both crowd sourcing with Appen and WSE with LF or LB at the same time as they are different jobs. Thats my understanding anyway. You just cant hold a WSE role with more than one company at a time.0 -
Anyone else meant to be taking the qualification today/tomorrow, and having problems logging in?£100 - £10,0000

Hi, I have just started crowdsourcing for Appen. Can anyone give me ideas of how many hours you work and how much you are paid for that? I haven't got the hang of it yet to work it all out. Thanks0
