highrisklowreturn - when you start playing the man instead of the ball, who do you think is impressed by that?
It usually indicates that your knowledge of the subject has reached a dead end.

Government have succeeded in their aim to pit Private sector v Public sector, although by a majority of comments here persuasion wasn't necessary

Don't come back complaining when your hospital appointments take 2 months longer than necessary in future:oI am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
People have every right to go on strike and withdraw their labour. It is a right that we all enjoy. Whether it is a wise course of action or not is another matter and is best left to those involved.
There are a fair number of posts knocking those who work in the Public Sector, my views on this are simple. If there are problems with the workforce, blame the management. If there are problems with gross overspending, not balancing budgets, rules, legislation, Byzantine complications and procedures, blame Government and expect them to sort it out.
What bothers me about pensions, is firstly affordability, but secondly was it in any way part of the conditions of employment. What exactly was sold to these people? Is there in effect a breach of contract? If it is cuts have to be made elsewhere.
I have seen colossal waste in the Public Sector. I don't think most of it was due to the employees, but rather the decisions of those in charge and an often complacent attitude about the public purse. MPs claiming for cleaning out their moat alas typifies the attitude.[STRIKE]Less is more.[/STRIKE] No less is Less.0 -
I didn't say "the private sector", I said "large private sector companies such as Shorts and H&W" ... there is a difference.saverbuyer wrote: »Average public sector sick days are actually twice that of the private sector. Look at it this way
Average public sector "sick days" 12 per employee.
220,000 public sector employees in NI.
2640000 days lost.
Lets say 46 working weeks in the year (minus holidays)
230 working days.
Roughly 11,000 public sector workers covering sicks days.0
