Looks like there will be limited to no public transport on 30th November..

So if I have my monthly train ticket and can't use it because of the strike, can I claim money back for having to drive/car parking costs due to the strike?

Hard to say really. Their terms & conditions don't make this explicit:

But I'm sure they'll try to wriggle out of it by using the last bullet point in point 9.0 -
Yeah, shame we can't have advance notice of a possible strike before we spend our money on a ticket!0

Are you being sarcastic? If you are I said monthly ticket, not a day return or weekly. With those you could make other provisions. Considering most commuters buy monthly or annual tickets why are they paying full amount when there's a day they must incur additional costs to get to work because Translink are striking.0 -
Looks like I'll have to walk to work, which is sometimes quicker than relying on the two buses that I need to get in the morningNO MORE HANDWASH GLITCHES PLEASE

A bus driver attends a course I do and he told me weeks ago they would be on strike. Seems they are classed as the public sector work wise, so coming out. They did have a deal for pensions etc then at the last moment the company re read the fine details and said no.0

Absolute disgrace
Strike for an hour or something once a week. Unite should be ashamed for taking such selfish action.
Wonder how many unemployed bus / HGV drivers are just sitting around begging for a job hummmmm.0 -
Firstly they have every right to strike and to be fair there have been very few strikes in that sector. Most disputes have two sides, but with strikes we always tend to blame the strikers.
That said I am not sure what good striking will do. I suppose it will show their opposition, solidarity and all the rest, but if repeated and there is prolonged disruption it could cause serious loss of confidence which would be disastrous and undue some real progress.[STRIKE]Less is more.[/STRIKE] No less is Less.0 -

Not a chance! You might be able to use it on 01 December though, as a goodwill gesture from the comapny. That would be a bit of good PR for them.0 -
