Had fairtrade coffee at my local HB.100g jar for 29p!!
Also catering size tins, but can't remember the price.
I didn't buy as it expires at the end of next month and I don't need any.
Bought this type before though and it's ok.
    Catering size (500g) was £2.99:confused:

why would people buy the tin when the jars are half the price and can be recycled

    Dom

Got some of these in raspberry last week and then some of the hazelnut ones this week.

They are well tasty. I'm sure they would cost more than 10p normally. They might even be a bit healthy but it is hard to tell as the packs are in foreign.

I went to the Quality Save in Droylsden yesterday and a lot of shelves were empty. Probably after the weekend blitz. Still got me some bargains though.

The packs of microwave rice are a steal at 49p, they are usually twice this in the supermarket.
Just looking to save a few pennies here and there

Is the foreign packaged food made here with different labels and slight changes in recipe for UK, Ireland, France etc

    or is it made abroad?

Just wondering about the food miles, carbon footprint type stuff

and would get chucked out if i spent all day checking the labels of all the food bargains

Some stuff is made in the UK for export and will be made with foreign labels. If it says made in the UK feel happy it didn't make it's voyage to mexico or wherever it is :)

what is the difference between 'home bargains' and 'quality save' they seem to have very similar things?? some things are identical.
  • Sarah Jessica Parker 'Lovely' EDT 100ml at £22.99.
More than £30 elsewhere, I think.
    Sorry if previously mentioned!

They are exactly the same - same colour/logo. I think the older shops are called Quality Save and the newer ones Home Bargains. Both run by the same company, TJ Morris, based in Salford, I think.

In Sale branch yesterday, A4 sticker books of Snow White, Cinderella etc. 19p each. Narnia scrapbooks (actually have cellophane lift-up pages like a photo album) about 49p
